complete darkness?

i made a door out of black/white plastic and a adhesive zipper. i need to cut a ahole in the plastic door for a passive air intake. my question is when it needs to be complete darkness in my grow closet what can i do to keep light from getting in without covering up the air intake hole?

if you showed some pics it would make this easier however run some ducting from the intake prob about 1 1/2 to 2 feet pointed upwards. or when its time for lights out make sure the room where the intake fan will be is dark as well. show some pics and i can help figure this out better

dont have a digital camera yet but its just my closet which i took the door off the hinges and made a door out of plastic and the door has a zipper to get in and out of. any other ideas? i liked the ducting idea though

well the only thing i can think of is keep your lights on a midnight to 6 am darkness schedue it will be dark from those times anyway i sugest putting some kind of small screen on the inside to keep unwanted pests out good luck to you
