Do you dim at all with your cobs during seedling stage. I'm at 12" above could probably lower them to 8" or just 12" full blast instead of 50 percent.
I have only used my cobs once for veg. Now my flower tent is back in perpetual mode I use the cmh for veg. But when I did veg under it I didn't need to dim them. That's not to say you cant dim yours, but they seem to handle plenty of light under the cobs, its not required but as long as they aren't showing any negative signs then I don't see a problem.

i like CMH, they will burn the shit out of your eyes though, and phill bulbs say they are supposed to be burned vertical. there are some lamp fixtures that have this configuration.

make sure to follow the first ignition instructions; its important, if you mess it up, you will get this blue tinge to your light. thought bright its out of spec for sure.

i think you could do better shopping around for the same items. most CMH lamps include the philips bulb your choice 3000k or 4000k. lots of good deals on tents. don't go too cheap on your fan, and you really don't need fabric pots. you can make your own odor control for such a small grow, but if you look around you can find good deals on cans.

with the money you save, but a ph pen.

a note on eye burning- I bought a second hand 630 without bulbs. the b ulbs showed up an one broken, the other without a secondary jacket. So im running in the danger zone, make sure to order t 12 to be in an open housing. I dunno if the t9 315 cmh shouldve even fit but i got it in there

I've seen the PAR readings for 315w CMH and they really only have intense enough light in the middle 2'x2' area. I haven't used them myself but it looks to me to be weak for a 3'x3' tent. Maybe if you put some other lights in there with it. Probably best to mix light sources anyway, for a more complete spectrum. Like if you put about a 30w COB in each corner. Low wattage units like that can be found pretty cheap. Probably red rich ones would be good to compliment the blue rich CMH, like 2700k-3000k. Actually looking at the ad again I see that the CMH itself is 3000k, so I guess add some blue rich COBs then, 4000-5000k. Or just more of the same 3000k if you want, suit your own taste.
