Concerns About Drying

Ok I cut the top cola off one of my ladies and hung her to dry in a basement closet. Temps are 72 while rh is about 75. They've been drying now for four days and they're still very moist to the touch. My question is if kept at such high rh will the buds stand a chance of getting mold or rot. I could probably take them and put them in my upstairs closet to finish but they will be exposed to some light sunlight through the window though i have blinds in there. Temps there are maybe 75 and rh 60. Help which way may work best?

I would move it upstairs provided odor, etc isn't a problem. IMO, filtered, indirect sunlight shouldn't be a problem for a few days, after all, they just came from some pretty intense light. Long term exposure is said to degrade thc. Still, back in the 60's & 70's I'm sure what we were smoking was cut and field dried and that was some pretty good shit.

Ok I just put hygrometer in closet and rh is stable at 55 but temps is around 78 degrees. Is that too high?

Yikes! I need to get on here more often. It's probably dry by now, isn't it? Luckily, the process is somewhat flexible and there's lots of time between too wet and too dry. Whichever way it leans just means more or less burping, imo. I don't use hygrometers or bovida packs or any of that. I use my nose and fingers. But my grows are small and I have time to fool with it.
