hello

well i am improving my set up and i got a better tent to grow in.........so my old tent is getting converted into a dry tent ..............this is my 3rd time drying and curing so i am really a noob

this is what i have learned please correct me if wrong
humity needs to be controlled 50% is the best
temp anything around 68 to 78 is good for drying over 80 the thc degrades faster
light is your enemy
air movement is good to strong is bad

the method i have been using is a the mason line........cut the plant as close to the ground as possible after the flush and 2 days in dark .......hang it on the line by one of the branchs......do not touch it for 5 to 7 days then take it down and clip the gaurd leaves off place in mason jars open every 12 hours for first 2 weeks

the set up as of now is
1 mason line
1 carbon scubber 3 months use time only 170 cfm with a 80 cfm booster on it
1 intake duct with 80 cfm booter fan with filter so runs little under what the scrubber pulls out
1 dry cure rack ( general hydroponics one the 6 lvl 36 inch round one from amazon)
1 16 oz dehumitifer
1 10 inch fan on low ( it is hanging mid lvl in the tent above the dehumitifer) staic air flow

so can u help me out is there more i can do/ know/ learn
this batch comming out is the best i have made so far and i have not messed up the drying and curing like i did last 2 ......thanks for the help

Check out weed nerd ep on YouTube: tc's corner with Kyle kushman he gives some good info on the cure process

Sounds like you pretty good to go mate but pictures would be great.

Also I've heard of people leaving the plant still rooted and placing in the dark for a couple of days before the chop, Never tried it myself I just chop and trim after the flush at the base of the plant and hang upside down till dry then cut off buds place in jars and open once a day for refreshing the air.

Maybe these's a more scientific way of drying and curing and I'll learn it from this thread.

that is what i do
the flush ......the bag gets dry and lite i move it into this tent for 2 days of darkness then i chop them .........it does make them look prettier and stronger from what i can see and taste

sorry they are dark ......the 10 inch fan is hanging from some masonline it blows across the room into the coner of the other side
i have a lady that likes to take the fan leaves and trimmings off me for cookies she hooks me up with a few i give them to her for free

for the guy using this for ideas on his own

the results rocked ................i tried both ways one with the flush and dry out time for soil plus 2 days of dark..............flush 1 day of light to perk up then 2 days in dark with wet soil ..........they both well i am happy off one bong hit lasted 3 hours tryed the other one with water seems to be stronger but it was topped so that could account for this..........had a over 40 helper and he kept saying damn does not rem it being this stickie .........took it as a good sign ...............i did notice the root system with the wet soil kept tring to pump up the water

they hung on the line as u sawl for 6 days the humity in the room before i got the dehumifer was around 67% the dehumifier was able to controll it nicely the tent was about 5% more then the outside instead 15 20% like it was going ...............got a hay smell around the 3 days i check it humity lvls i shut off the fan and it went away kept off for 2 more day turned on 24 hours before final trim ...........buds are dry to touch and smokeable with stems still little flexible week in curing jars should be prefect

note for u every mason jar weighs differnet u need a label system and premeasure the jars ( do it without the lid this way doing curing u can test while it is open and do the math without needing to take them out and manhandle before use/sale ....looks prettier and is stronger)......i use Quart jars i get mine to hold 28 grams in each and make my head jar (those pretty ones u made during trimming and made u go damn it is mine)
