Crop King Seeds - my review

This spring I purchased 3 strains from Crop King (a breeder from Vancouver BC), each were feminized auto's. I grew 4, and my buddy grew 2....both of us using sunlight from inside our apartments
  • Revolver (80% Indica -10% Sativa)
  • Early Miss (70% Indica - 30% Sativa)
  • Dwarf Low Flyer (80% Indica - 10% Sativa)
My friend grew one Revolver and one Early Miss, both in soil.....I also grew the Early Miss in soil, but the Revolver and the Dwarf Low Flyers were grown in a hempy style (perlite/vermiculite).

The Revolver was a very aggressive plant, behaved like an invasive species, as I have never seen a plant take off so well from the start, plus was pre-flowering in under 4 weeks from sprout. We were both very pleased with this strain, as it just grew and produced decent buds....my harvest was 72 grams, completed in 118 days. Buddy was completed in 122 days and produced about 50 grams.

Bottom Line: I would recommend this strain to anyone.

The Early Miss was very disappointing, as it did not behave as an auto, so after 60 days with no pre-flower, I had to move it into a dark room at night to trip it into the flower mode....as such this one was way behind schedule and took near 6 months to harvest. Marketed from the breeder as the highest THC of the three strains, but IMO it is clearly the weakest of the three strains.

My buddy refused to move his Early Miss into a dark room, as a result it didn't start to pre-flower until September (he started April 15th). His is still growing it but it's so far behind that it won't produce much at all, as winter is at our door steps.

Bottom Line: this is a no-go in my books....in fact I'll be asking the breeder for a refund or replacement, as they were not auto's are marketed.

The Dwarf Low Flyer was a really pleasant surprize, as I'm very impressed with this strain. very aggressive and lived up to its claims. I was able to harvest 36 grams in 89 days, but I did supplement it with four-23 watt CFL's to extend the daylight hours to 20/4. This tag-team sunshine/CFL approached worked very well in the veg mode, but likely less effective in the flower mode. With regret, I accidentally killed my first Low Flyer so I was only able to complete the younger one.

Bottom Line: I loved this little gal, but the yield was only half of the Revolver, but it is a dwarf so not a fault of the strain.....I will grow this strain again, as its size was very user friendly and finished in under 3 months....gotta like that!

cheers
