I was hoping to get some advice from u folks...when u guys are about to harvest what are the things u look for? What will tell u the flower is at the highest potency and ready to harvest?? Thanks guys..I've harvested two different times n I think im harvesting prematurely i have very little experience with harvesting so just wanna make sure I'm not messing up!!! Gotta get it right cuz I got some og Kush seeds n I don't wanna screw them up!!!

I harvest after looking at trics. 40 clear 50 clowdy 10 amber I flush. At harvest I get 0-20 clear 50-60 cloudy and around 20 amber.

I have 30x is that enough? Is that all u go by is trichs? Wat about the hairs going from white to red-brown?

You want to look for:

Cloudy trichomes, you want as close to 100% cloudy trichs as possible (cloudy trichs represent fully realized THC). Amber trichs represent a 90% loss of potency. Clear trichs have no viable THC in them only pre-cursor cannabinoids.

Swollen calyxes. The flower pods of the plant will swell up which is a sign of maturity.

Receding pistils. The pistils will recede into the calyxes (pistils = the small hairs).

And finally the overall look of the plant.

The trichomes when looked at under a magnifier look like little mushrooms. I have a 45x magnifier, and I think I could've gotten one stronger. I can still see the trichomes and their mushroom shape but its kind of hard. I don't think that a 30x would work for me. The color of the trichomes is all that matters buddy. I actually saw a thread on here where it showed a close up of a clear trichome, a cloudy trichome, and an amber trichome. According to the chart it said that the THC is actually degrading once it turns amber. Check around on some of these threads on the subject of harvesting. It will help you understand alot better than by me telling you. lol

Yep.... What K0ijin said.... You can actually see when they are done without a microsope.. though I do use one.... they just look done....

You are misunderstanding the information then...
The flower pods (calyxes) of the plant swell up during flowering, it has nothing to do with seed production.
Seed pods look very different and will not even be relevant unless you have males in your garden...

Perhaps you should read up on the cannabis plant and it's different aspects.

Oh. Maybe you should do some reading also.. The calyx is what holds the seed, and if you have a hermie it will pollinate itself.. Also, re-read my post, "In my case"...

I did not say that calyxes on male plants don't hold the seed. Don't try to change the subject.
Since there is a pretty huge difference between female calyxes and male calyxes your entire premise of "swollen calyxes = seeds" is ludicrous.
Female calyxes have pistil sticking out of them and they have a different shape than male calyxes which contain seeds.

"In your case" is not viable, every female plants calyxes swell up towards the end of flowering, and that swelling is a sign of maturity (when to harvest).
Stop confusing people with your wrong information.
