Current strains

I'm not looking to reinvent the wheel once again (seriously doubt I can do it better than whats already been done). So I'm hoping that some of you more experienced growers might help point me in the right direction.

I am looking for a strain that has an uplifting energetic high with good pain management quality's and as little laziness/drowsiness/munchies as possible

Ideally it could be grown inside or out (in northern climates) with an ideal harvest date by the beginning of October @ 45 degrees latitude.and mature in 8 weeks inside.

I have been looking at some strains called:
"White Castle" (White Widow x Ice)
"AK-48" (Jock Horror x Ice)
"Damn Sour" (Sage x Sour Diesel)
"Sweetest Cindy 99" (Cinderella 99 x Sweet Tooth #3)

Been wondering if something like Durban Poison x Wappa might work well as a hybrid.
Probably wouldn't be as productive or potent as the above mentioned strains but seems like there would be potential for a really forgiving/resilient outdoor strain that matures naturally in a New England growing season.

Any and all advice is appreciated (including suitable strains I might have missed)

Maybe one of you guys can help me out with this:
I have been offered a "clone only" plant that the guy calls "Red Cross"
He said it was developed by a now decided former editor of High Times magazine (Wasn't the guy from "Ask Ed" though so I didn't recognize the name)
Anyway It supposedly grows nearly twice as round as it does tall, tops out at about 6x10 feet, and will finish flowering by October outdoors in New England if vegged indoors for 2 months before transplanting in spring.

Could anyone point me in a direction where I might find any information about such a strain?
