You may need to invest in better ventilation rather than downgrade light in that space. 400 watts of cobs definitely should put off less heat initially than 400 watts of hps, but if you're area isn't properly exhausted/ventilated, 400 watts of heat is 400 watts of heat, and 300 will be less, but not by much.

What version of the hlg drivers do you have? You may just be able to dim them in the drivers. If not you could always add a pot to each panel to dim the current to the cobs.

This would be your cheapest bet.

Hello

Mount sorry late reply ^^

by the time I forget myself somewhere and looking out of the labyrinth: D

Just kidding :p

then to answer: my drivers are HLG-185H-1400B

and to answer your qquestion again: I did not dim because more loss Yield Bond that I reduced it feeding cxb ...
well, that's what one told me ...

thank's

For some reason they seem to prefer using DHL, maybe they feel insecure using China Post because they cannot guarantee the shipment. China Post shipments are still arriving quickly but as the holiday shopping increases I expect it will get slower and slower. The price on the invoice was not his cost it was marked that way for your benefit.
I have dealt with a number of sellers on Ali-express/baba. I have alkso run my own small business where I had to process international shipments on a regular basis. The lower listed price on the invoice is what US customs cares about. it is the amount you will have to pay in duty and taxes for standard shipping. If you pay for the expedited (DHL) shipping then DHL handles all customs brokerage on your behalf. As well the "shipping" costs usually also include DHL's brokerage fee for the transaction. This is not all ways true be sure to check with DHL and your seller for exact details.

I am using diy reflectors in the veg room because the distance to canopy is greater ~10-12" and it made a noticeable improvement. I have a few diy reflectors and lenses in the flowering tents around the edges of the canopy but still experimenting with it and no clear idea the best approach for 23W COBs with such a short distance to canopy. Definitely on my to-do list.
Hi Supra, I'm sorry to revive such an old post but I just started a run using 4 CXB 3590s CD bins in a 2x2x6 grow tent starting from seed (unknowns). They seem to love the light and I'm running @ 23w around 20" from the plants top.

I have 4 plants going, 1 is like 2 or 3 day seedling and the other are week-2 weeks old, I'm using bare cobs with no lenses.

Questions is, am I running too low a distance from the plants at this stage? I have an oscillating fan and they're all hooked to a Alpine Pro Rev. 2s with 120mm fans on top of them since I couldn't wire the CPU fans with the annoying PWM thing.

The driver is 1400A and is dimmed to its lowest ATM which if I understood correctly is 700ma so ~23w.

I first had them like 10" from the top, but raised them to Will's recommendation. I'm running 24/0 and wanted to see if there's anything I can do to maximize growth potential. The quickest bean to pop is around 11 days old (from sprout) 4" tall but has very tight internode length and is quite bushy compared to it being very short so I'm guessing she's liking it.. anyways, I'd love to hear your take on this..
