For those who are solar powered, neither of the DC fan's power supplies are power factor corrected. Power factor is about .55. The Can Fan Max Fan 6" IS power factor corrected, .95-.97 pf. So if you ran an 8" Hyper Fan at half power (40W) versus a 6" Max Fan at full power (80W) they would draw the same amount of current and move about the same amount of air.
Is that only when DC powered? you say the sensa can draw 10W but then say it pulls 80W

Ya that imported PM was the most expensive lessons of my life but I am glad to have learned it. One thing I proved is that that peroxide cannot eradicate PM in a perpetual. Had to resort to Myclobutanil (Immunox at Home Depot AKA Eagle 20) and 20% milk foliar. I will be keeping the 20% milk foliar going for a few more months just in case as well.
yeah that stuff is awful (both the bugs and the cure). works tho.

i fully dip new cuts in 2ml/gal eagle then grow that out as a mom and take cuts off that and its a permanent treatment. but yeah in a perpetual its tough as it can hide.

i wont consume any cut that had mycobutanil, even after 90-120 days of growing out. i figure taking a cut off a big mom and growing that out should be 2 more orders of magnitude reduction.

Also a fan of azamax as its such a broad spectrum. thats my other treatment for new ladies. but im static now and bug free so i need nothing:)

but im picky and dont try other peoples meds cause everybody is way too into being dependent on that stuff.

I was referring to the Hyper fan which can pull anywhere from 6W to 80W depending on the dimmer setting. The Sensda pulls anywhere from 5W to 50W. The dimmers are just potentiometers and could be controlled just like the Mean Well drivers. If you had a fancy controller the fan speed could adjust itself based on canopy temp.

Both the Hyper Fan and the Sensda use internal AC to DC power supplies so the multi phase motor itself is DC powered but the assembly is AC powered. If they would design a pure DC version it would be lighter and we could power it with a high efficiency, power factor corrected Mean Well driver. It would cost more but I would be willing to pay it.

i dont like my canfans and the cheap triac dimmers (which are the same as what they sell at harbor freight for router speed controls.) it makes the fan really loud when its turned down- like this loud resonant hum. ive never put it on a watts up but should.

Ya the idea of consuming product from a Myclobutanil dependent operation is a disturbing thought but it is very useful when used for tactical eradication.

When I first got PM I heard the advice to reduce humidity from my regular 55-65% down to at least 35% from now on. Doesnt sound like a big deal but in order to do that I would have to crank dehumidifier power nonstop from early spring until late fall. I didnt like that as a solution and I know that 60% humidity has never given me a mildew problem before, so I am leaving it at 60 and will be hoping that eradication is complete. If it does come back I will culture some lactobacillus to foliar and also drop it to 35%.

Yep I dont blame you, you can hear the motor strain. I believe the Max Fan 6" has a double wound motor so you can choose 60W 70W or 80W with a built in 3 way switch. I am not exactly sure how that works, you would think the wattages of setting 1 + 2 would equal the wattage of setting 3. The CFM is 200/265/335

i had a killer dayton 2 speed ceiling mount that was uber quiet but gave up the ghost after a decade. i miss it

ive got one of those 2-speed maxs with the foam innards. she purrs. upsizing ducts and using real ducting instead of that crappy spiral stuff also makes them a lot quieter

Hey RIU I have been checking in from time to time. Have been keeping plenty busy renovating and had to battle some imported PM which I dare to say is finally eradicated. Still running the 3500K CXB3590s at 10-25W ea. Got a bunch of CD bin and a handful of DB bin going thanks to @REALSTYLES and Kingbrite. Getting 700-800 PPFD and have not needed to run AC except a few days last summer.

Lately I have been focusing on air rather than light though. Improving aeration for the soil mix and improving the circulation and exhaust/carbon fans. My GPW fell way off as the small amount of perlite in my mix eventually broke down and the granular DE was allowing too much water retention. Adding chunky perlite and Growstone GS-2 was an instant improvement in the ladie's health. The newest soil mix is 35-40% aeration and GPW is much better now 1.3 and hoping to get it much higher.
Jungpot. I email jarry. Cool dude. But they or vicke seid to me 30cash for shiping so i did not buy lol. But i can get 3070cxa an cxb. For 21an uder but i got a 3590cxa replacement check that comes in 4000k and lower that I can use in its place and it uses 50 volts goes up to 3 amps Plus 3 step chip and it has price value of 12 box with 13,000lumd Max Max

Anybody has the time check out this Arduino digital display and tell me if it's similar to the storm acts if anybody knows anything about that I really would like to take my light to the next level and figure out how to create sunrise and channel dimming without having to walk in the room in manually do it mouse5 really ain't done anything on this yet. He has spoken of it and showing you what he has done with it so far but he has not walked you through it yethttps://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01C466H1S?psc=1

Hey Supra! Good to hear you are still around brother. Thanks for sharing so much knowledge about COBs, they are a huge improvement for me. Due to my current living situation, stealth is a primary concern for me right now. How well does your carbon filter work with the low air flow? I would love to switch to a fan dimmed down to lower speed but I thought the filters do not work as well that way.

Fuck I am thankful neither of you is my provider.

I have never nor will ever use that shit on my plants but I'm sure through some act of moral relativist wizardry you've convinced yourselves it's "not that bad", "everyone does at some point", and "sometimes you just have to do what works". Too bad that product didn't end up in the dumpster where it belongs.

Yuck.

Reluctantly I resorted to Myclobutanil (Immunox at Home Depot AKA Eagle 20) for the clones and 20% milk foliar to suppress it during veg.
i fully dip new cuts in 2ml/gal eagle then grow that out as a mom and take cuts off that and its a permanent treatment.

Its not "moral relavist wizardry" its called responsible use. i literally use 2 ml of the material in a single gallon of water, and then dispose of it properly (not a dumpster). it permanently kills the PM, then i can grow that out as a mother and then take clones of that.. So whatever ppm level is in the plant initially is reduced by probably 3 orders of magnitude by the time i take the cut, and then reduced another 3 orders of magnitude below that. thats literally a millionth of the (initally ppm level) concentration at most and i guarantee it would be undetectable in any product. Thats why i use it (and use it the way i do) - it is a one-and done and completely eliminates the need for any other chemicals in the future.

I hope you dont ever smoke anything from *anybody* else because its probably a lot worse than that. I also hope you dont ever buy nonorganic produce or any grain product because the end products are literally soaked in glyphosate. I hope you dont buy any packaged beverage products that are loaded with fluoride from the city water supplies they are made with. etc, etc.

ive used it literally twice in 25 years of growing. thats a total of 4 ml which was used on plants that were never even consumed. Ive seen other growers spray avid and eagle20 etc on plants literally going into flowering. gross.

Fair enough, I appreciate the more in-depth explanation and would be interested to see lab results to corroborate.

Everything
I smoke that isnt grown in my garden is lab tested. I have been in waaaaay too many gardens to trust anyone. As much as I hate the idea of taking pesticides/fungicides/fluoride/chloramines internally, smoking myclobutanil is a completely different animal and if it is used as a preventative (constant application as opposed to your method) its a huge fucking problem.

Full disclosure: I do occasionally drink coffee that doesnt come out of my chemex and I've had more than one non-organic beer in the past year. Busted.

fun fact: sierra nevada (at least sourced from the Chico brewery) is one of the few beers without fluoride, and of course its available everywhere. not sure about their kill devil hills brewery in NC, but im 100 miles from chico so its my go-to. of course tons of organic produce is irrigated with fluoridated water as its unregulated
