Dave's 2nd Grow - LSD in Bubble/DWC with Fogger

First grow was a disaster, but this one's already looking much better.

04-01: Planted 3 seeds in coco coir plugs surrounded by hydroton in 3" net baskets.
Only got one seed to sprout out of 3. The strain is called "LSD", bought from TheAttitude.org.

04-04: Moved seedling in its basket into hydro system.
Hydro system is a combination of ultrasonic fog + DWC/bubbleponics. The fogger makes a thick layer of nutrient-enriched fog on top of a reservoir of water + nutrients. All I did to make that happen was to submerge a $30 ultrasonic fogger about 1/2 inch below the surface of the reservoir. Also have an airstone bubbling air into the res water.
Reservoir is a Rubbermaid Roughneck 10 gallon tub with cover. Covered completely with aluminum tape to keep light out. Cut hole in lid to hold the net basket that my sprout is growing in.

Nutes:
Advanced Nutrients SensiGrow A & B and B-52.

At first, only a tiny root was poking out of the bottom of the net pot containing my sprout. So only used the fogger to feed it. Had 6 gallons of pure water + nutes in res.

At the beginning of the second week there were already 4-5 long roots hanging down almost into the water. A few days later they were long enough to lower the water level down to 4 gallons. Changed the water + nutes.

Pictures coming soon!

I love these roots. Didn't take long for them to grow. I used Advanced Nutrients Voodoo Juice. Because the ultrasonic fogger sterilizes the nutrient solution, I didn't add the Voodoo Juice to the reservoir. Instead, I just use an eye dropper to add about 1 ml at the base of the plant stem each day. (Voodoo Juice contains beneficial microbes that promote root growth.)

Lowered light just before taking this photo. I'm hoping that it'll grow even faster with more light, but need to watch the temp to make sure it doesn't get too hot.

WOW! This thing is growing fast. Nice, broad leaves and deep, rich color! Still less than 3 weeks from SEED.

Changed water & nutes today. Plant is still growing fast & healthy. It's about 7" tall and 16" wide. I'm a little disappointed that it hasn't grown taller for a while, it's just spreading out. I was tilting the lights all the time so that the plant was always getting light mostly from the sides. Now I'm positioning the lights directly from above for part of the day to see if that might encourage more vertical growth.

I also took the reservoir off the stool that it was sitting on, to give the plant more room to grow taller eventually. Lowered lights to keep them close to it.

Here are today's pics:

It's about 9" tall so far. Lots more room left in my cabinet to grow into. Smells real nice when I open the doors, but it isn't too strong. I might need to build a SCROG frame soon. I'll be able to mount fans and more lights on it up and down the tubes to provide light and circulation around the plant all the way up.

Been cautiously pruning it a bit. I need to learn more about pruning, so that I can get the most bud for the buck. You can see the nice, thick main stem near the base.

Roots have grown nice and long in one month. I took this photo in the middle of a weekly water change, when all the water was drained out of the res.
