Let the finger-pointing begin. Ségolène Royal’s defeat on Sunday night left the French Socialist party in disarray and searching for someone to blame. There is hardly a shortage of scapegoats.
It is the party’s third consecutive presidential defeat. The Socialists now face the question of whether they can ever regain power without ditching their anti-capitalist rhetoric, as the mainstream left has done across almost all of Europe.

Is there no one in all of Europe, nay in all the world, who is willing to openly speak the truth? that Socialism in all of its stinky forms, but the Marxist version in particular, is a Lie? that there is no truth there, no better world, no paradise built by the hands and will of men, but just a giant mound of graves and misery and death and failure?
Socialism has never been successful and never can be since it is at its heart a pack of high-sounding lies. And that can never change.
They can seek scapegoats all this wish, and slice up their own to their heart's content. It's still a pack of lies

very true Wavels.

most interesting to me is that we saw those who are most oppressed by socialism come out and violently protest the advancement of the French society away from socialism... it's like heroin; once they get on it they become very upset at the prospect of having to actually be productive and not hide under the pile of the "collective workforce" anymore.

i hope France becomes great again, they did after all help us CLEARLY defeat the Kingdom in the war of Independence.

France is already great. They were smart enough to stay the fuck out of Iraq once they found out they were cut out of the oil deals. France has the best medical plan on the planet. They actually care about their citizenry as opposed to the USA that only cares about corporations. They are energy independent and possess nuclear bombs, a big plus in keeping the waring USA away from them. Unless you guys are hiding under a rock, you must know that the USA is the most feared and hated country on the planet. does that make you feel good, Yeah we're the baddest of the bad, but we have to buy our friends. Well maybe not for long, we're running out of money, actually we ran out a long time ago and we're living on a giant Visa card, paying those crooked bankers huge interest payments (The Federal Reserve) and selling our national treasures to foriegn countries like China. Thanks Bush, your compassionate conservativism has broken the bank. My great-great grandkids will be paying for your treasonous deeds. BTW, this is an opinion forum and I will supply my opinions freely. Feel free to skip reading them if you are incapable of openmindedness, I wouldn't want to awaken your dormant brain cells.

Med, the French People just elected someone who is MUCH closer to, and much more friendly with, the Evil Satan USA!
How does your rant totally ignore this huge shift in French voters perception and desires?
Holy Macaroni?

Voter Fraud, you should know all about it, they just recently pulled it off in Mexico and now France.. The days of legitimate voting are over. When 90% of a country are dirt poor (Mexico) and a right wing conservative is elected, Go figure. They had marchers in the streets for a month, but still the conservative won, Bullshit. that election was bought and paid for. The french might want to do some investigating as I believe there are more poor people than rich people and poor people don't vote for right wing assholes. I truly believe that the next US election will be rigged as the right knows it cannot win a fair election. As it stands they've stolen the last two , right wing supreme court judges, and voter fraud in Ohio and Florida, just to name a couple of suspicious voting deals. The Democrats better get smart soon or they will go the way of the whigs and we'll have a one party system, we almost do now, it's called an oligarcic plutocracy, you know, where the corporations and the wealthy control the government, Sounds like Amerika to me. PS> Ségolène Royal’s big mistake, obviously, was her election campaign promise to seek a referendum on selling France and Europe out to the one-worlders. Maybe thats why she lost.

No way, 7x ... it was all about hanging chads. *lol*

The 35% unemployment among those under 25 years old in France is the result of the inefficiencies of government meeting the "hand-out" mentality.

Med ... why no mention of the unemployment rate in your French socialist paradise?
