Delicious seeds- Cotton Candy

Hey RIU, though i would give my smoke report on "Cotton Candy" by delicious seeds. Here are my results.

1 seed- freebie from attitude, cloned multiple times, mother plant is flowering atm.
1 gallon pot (rootbound)
5 weeks veg from clone
9.5 weeks flower
22 grams dry
3 days dried and hung, 2 weeks cured.

Colors- golden mostly, dark green and a bit of yellow as i let her yellow out last 2 weeks, bits of pink and purple and magenta.

Bag Appeal- 7.5, with longer cure and a better grow environment, it can be damn good. sativa buds bud compact and dense.

Smell- 8.0 very sweet, smells like candy, syrup and musky funk, but not in a bad way. not something that will stink up a room much but is fragrant. in flower the smell is funkier like maple syrup and decaying fruit.

Taste- 8.0-9.0 Sweet like the smell, doesn't last the entire bowl but very subtle cotton candy flavor on exhale, i can see where it gets the name.

High- 7.5 Very heady, good effect on the body, good for wake and bake. gives me munchies and severe red eye, alot of feeling in my face and head if i smoke too much. harvested at about 10% milky 80% cloudy 10% amber, which seems perfect, maybe a bit sooner would give it a more uplifting high. i can say it i very easy to lose track of time on this herb. good daytime smoke, not good for sleep meds. definitely sativa dominant as it can stretch 2.5-3x in flower and has really nice elongated buds.

Overall- 7.5, its got potential, my particular phenotype expressed intersexing traits, pretty much gave me a bad rep of what was looking very good going into flower, keeper potential if you grow enough fems.

Keeper?- not mine, but it was fun to grow for sure, while i do have another clone of this, and a huge mother plant flowering out, i wont grow the clone if the mom's buds are of similar quality.

Stability- ? Having only grown 1 freebie, i cannot say for sure but my plant threw bananas under high movement stress.

Pics will be up at a later date.

Was wondering about that particular strain. Will be chopping a LA Diva next week. I never used their gear in the past but after the La Diva and I just germinated their critical sensi star I am quite surprised. Cant wait to see ur pics.

I got the seed along with some Samsara- Green Love Potion and Crazy Miss Hyde, a Delicious seeds- la diva as well and some barney's farm freebies from a promotion. the cotton candy has alot of vigor and likes a good amount of nitrogen in flower, it does get rootbound fast because it establishes roots well (quick rooting clones). the green love potion is the biggest, even bigger than cotton candy, and CC gets huge outdoors. i personally think the green love potion looks to be the better outdoor performer and yielder, haven't smoked it yet but it smells fantastic too. the Barney's farm gear was consistently bad across all 3 plants they gave for free, if they offer me any free BF in the future, im just gonna toss it in the trash.

Growing Delicious CC now, clones from previous grow. My first CC grow was ruined by a hermie in the mist (but didn't come from the CC). Anyways, I am not too impressed with CC. It is sweet, but the hint of musk isn't really my thing. Not bad, but I prolly wont grow again.

i got a really funky gal, its almost non existent in the cured buds though, only if you break them up do you get a bit of the funkyness, super sweet so far and only curing for the better. good luck on your new CC harvest.

Haha, thanks... Chopped two of them today... Very nice, sweet, and sticky. Maybe after a good cure, I might change my mind about discontinuing CC. Have the old mother reveg'd and now she's back in flower - killing her babies now :/ I'm thinking I'll pull 6 ounces on her alone in about 7 weeks - I gotta hurry up and throw her in a 20 gallon tote. She might be a monster - so I hope :)

Thx for the info!! me and my girl have been eyeing this strain!! Caramelo and Cheese Candy too!! i just wish i knew if they used the Caramelo to breed the cotton candy like they say for the Cheese candy... and if NOT Which lavender phenotype did they use to make the cotton candy?! i have a power plant hybrid flowering right now(venus flytrap) and im VERY impressed by the genetics... makes me want to lean back towards the cotton candy.

btw try putting your lights closer without burning your plants... thats usually the reason buds arent as tight. either that or heat.

yea i ran this sample clone in my tent, i was stressing my girls in any way i know (to replicate possible shitty outdoor conditions) just incase one of my girlies is a full blown herm or just intersexing prone, either i want to toss in the trash and not flower outdoors with my proven keeper clones from last year. i'm sure the outdoor Cotton candy will perform much nicer.

I also noticed the CC freebie I got didn't have a very tight bud. I had 5 plants in scrog with a 400 watt open reflector light right on top as well. Could I have used more light? Sure.... But I allocated my 1000 watt light elsewhere. I personally think the airy bud in my CC was do to the genetics on my seed - don't know about other CC phenos as I just grew the one :/

Sorry, chopped mine down... They drying now - I'll post pics of dry. But here are 2 Delicious Cotton Candy. I forgot I threw the freebie seed in my grow - crazy plant is 6'6" in a 8" pot :/

Also, pic of the reveg CC in the back, 5 gallon bucket.

wow, maybe i got lucky LOL super stretch on those girlies.
Haha, yeah, my pheno was very stretchy with very airy bud... But it was a freebie so I can't complain. I have finally chopped the cotton candy and have the dry goods... But like I said, my pheno wasn't the best. I doubt it was bad lighting cause I was up to 1000 HPS so the stretch was in my pheno - or so I think :P

Funny thing is, the two cotton candy I grew were kinda different all around... One was "musky" and sweet while one was citrusy and tangy.... Both were suppose to be delicious cotton candy but only thing in common was the airy bud.... Oh well, still decent smoke :)
