Democratic Senator, Dick Durban: 'We Should Appeal To The Center'

The problem is the 'center' isn't actually the center anymore. The overton window has shifted to the right. The Democratic party is center. Durban is proposing moving further to the right, to appeal to conservative voters to win elections, instead of appealing to ~50% of the base that chooses not to vote.
Exactly what changes can be made from a position of being powerless?

not another thought guide video. I'd rather put my eyes out than watch anything you post.

Durbin is the Senator from Illinois. He represents the people of Illinois. The state of Illinois isn't famous for being liberal. Here again, the California liberal is demanding the rest of the country be like him. If the people of Illinois don't like him, they can replace him in 2020.

Let me guess your next flaccid and hapless statement: "Durbin should retire".

This is where you tell me how popular Sanders is in a meaningless poll.

i won't unpack the embedded racist assumptions required for that abortion of an explanation to make any sense, but as long as you are in a question answerin' mood i might as well sneak one in myself.

i mean really ??? The guy enjoys pictures of asses being spread with duct tape. Very creepo if you ask me. Bernie kind of wrote about similar things back in his youth.

I notice the progressives are getting their asses kicked in just about every worldwide election right now.

Thanks for the advice though.

You seem to agree with Senator Durbin, the Democratic party needs to shift towards the center in order to win elections. Correct me if I'm wrong..

But where is the logic in trying to win back Republican/conservative voters by being more centrist, when they can just vote for the Republican?

Where is the winning strategy?

The same Democratic Party that's down 1000 seats since Mr Obama took office? You mean that Democratic Party?

They need all the advice they can get...

so, what office or nomination did Bernie win in 2016? If he is so great, why did about 65% of black and hispanic Democrats vote for the other person? Are you saying that white male Democrats, who are completely outnumbered by white male Republicans are going to change the pattern? Tell me again how foregoing legal campaign contributions will defeat well funded Republican campaigns in 2018.

I do take solace that two black progressives won Mayoral positions in the south recently. The best part about that is it puts the lie to Sanders downplaying social issues is such a winning strategy.

I'll save you some time

Strawman.

OK, you don't have to reply. You lost already.
