Determining sex and knocking up the female

Can anybody tell me how long until the plants usually show their sex. Also what does the female/male plants look like? I have seen pictures of male plants that have ball sacks.. are these on the nodes? or is it just spartically anyplace on the plant.

Also, I DO want to pollinate the female so that i can have some seeds... but not too damn many seeds. What is the best rout to go to make sure i have a few seeds in the bud but not to many?

EDIT: I put the plants into flowering about 5 days ago....

I only know so much about determining sex of the plant, so i dont want to give u false info, but i can help you with the seeding part. The males will have those ball shaped things that you talked about(you will know when you see them). Take them off after they have developed for a little while(but not before they have popped open) and put them in a tiny jar and keep it closed. in a few days they will pop open and release pollen into the jar. take a brush, stick it in there and swirl around, then knock off the extra pollen into the jar and close it again(you dont want the pollen floating around and sexing up females anywhere you dont want it to). Then take the females you want to pollenate into a separate room(if you are growing inside) and brush pollen over the portions of bud where you want seeds to be produced. If you dont want to waste the good bud on the females, go to the lower branches iof the plant where less desirable bud is(if any), and brush the pollen there.
Btw i read about seeding on random threads, so i won't take full credit for this technique, but if u have any quesitons feel free to ask

That sound pretty good and i might use that method but let me clarify something... i was thinking about just letting them naturally sex with the plants... sex the whole plant and not particular buds... but this is my first grow and I dont care as long as i get several high grade seeds outta this.. i have 3 indoor DWC closet plants so far (before sexing) and it is strictly for personal usage

well if u have enough males, this may be tedious work but you cant basicly reproduce this at a larger scale. if u have many males, you will get lots more pollen, and can basicly brush all over the buds of the plants you want. the better the genetics the higher quality the seed, so if you're willing to scarifice the cream of the crop, it will most likely pay off in the seeds.

Im not wanting to sacrifice my crop... i just want one of two seeds inside a nice double sized bud

Well then put a small amount of pollen in 1-3 small spots around the bud you desire. Its hard to control the variables to that extent. If you let the males pollenate naturally, it may be that or more dense with seeds depending on if its indoor or outdoors, but it would be all over the plant not in controlled areas
