Dirt cheap organic bug barrier

I saw this on a gardening site and made some, sprayed it on my plants that were getting eaten alive and immediately no more bug problems! One garlic clove (the whole clove, not the individual pieces), a few sprigs of mint (whatever you have on hand but you don't have to use it), and half a cup of Louisiana hot sauce (Texas Pete, etc). Add some water and blend it on the highest speed for a couple of minutes. Add enough water to make it a gallon, then strain it through some cheesecloth and it's ready to spray. You can use the garlic / mint solids to top dress around a few plants. This works really well, costs pennies, is quick and easy, and doesn't hurt your plants.

I can see how this could be effective as a clean, non-toxic preventative measure for certain pests.
