What about those male flowers? Are you being able to control them? such a bummer that they appeared out of nowhere.
I havent seen any come out of the main canopy. They were all on the underside. And i use the word all apprehensively. There were literally only maybe 6 or 7. Very early on too. Under developed and NOT open. But i just took all that stuff off from her completely. So she has a nice even canopy with maybe about 6-8 inches of vegetation below the tops. Ive actually contemplated trimming that up as well and just having tops. But i would like to see how this light penetrates into the canopy, being my very first diy cob setup and all. So i need some to measure where the larf starts (if any) and its going to be nice to compare a strain i did before under the cfl setup. Hitting 4 ozs under those, then UPGRADING to these, its going to be a bountiful harvest indeed (less anything unfortunate happens to her before then of course)

i had the same shit happen to me. all of my exotic genetix future plants hermied but it stayed almost entirely contained to the lower branching. there was a couple random ones up top but nothing too crazy. hopefully yours are like mine and arent too fertile. i definitely have seeds but not as many as there could have been!

Finally noticing the Bruce Banner #3 start working on some new growth. She has about 3 inches of new stem growth as well as 4 new node sites. So she finally took off. I was starting to worry she wouldnt make it as she is the same age as the other larger two in the back right and middle left, but not nearly as developed. The arrangement is the same as before:
1)From back to front, left to right: Sour OG, Sour Kush, 9 lb Hammer, Critical Kush 2.0, Incredibulk, Amnesia Auto in the small fabric pot, and a Bruce Banner #3 that definitely ISN'T dead.
2)Bruce Banner 3
3)Incredibulk
4&5)Amnesia Auto
6)Critical + 2.0
7&8 ) 9 LB Hammer
9) Sour OG (Left) Sour Kush (Right)

Currant Kush- Havent seen not a one more herm pop up on the under canopy since lollipopping her. I left about 8 inches of growth from the tops down. All the tops are getting nice and hard and starting to frost up real nice. She has about another month n week to go yet.

Tangerine Dream- cleaned up her canopy with some pruning of the big fan leaves. Also took off the lowest 3 inches of growth. About to take it up to about 6-8 inches from the dirt which (hopefully if she stretches more) will leave about 6-10 inches of canopy depth.

Midnight Fire Og- starting my first attemot at mainlining. Got two mains to start and allowed middle shoots to grow out to be mains. Stem diameter isnt the same as the two biggest shoots but they are the same height. I just need to keep them the same height and they will all be tops. I also topped a few of the mains to keep height uniform. May tie more side shoots down to get more outward stretch but as of now she is only about 6-9 inches tall from dirt. Healthy.

Makes total sense. I prefer the higher wattage per cob and less cobs. I imagine it would lead to higher yield because of increased amount of light per given space (ppfd). I will upgrade to your setup as soon as I have the money to. For now, I might invest in the heatsinks, but put the cheapo ebay 100w cobs, $2.99 per fixture plus the $10 power supplies. They might be worth the try. The worst that can happen is I lose 50 dollars when the cobs fail after 3 days.. Obviously the efficiency is not the same as the citizens, but 100watts at 110 lms/watt isn't a terrible deal, or so it seems....
I've been running a ghetto DIY setup like this for four month now, no problems.

edit: running them at ~50W per cob, 9 in all.

Built another scrog net for the veg room. Id like to get more tops from those plants, so i implemented the scrog. Could still top a few branches as well. Need to take some clones off the ones i want to keep. Even tho flower isnt for another couple months.

2 weeks to go on the Currant Kush. Fed her last night for the last time. Straight sugar water and maybe mollasses the next 2 weeks. She is a thirsty little bitch tho. Shes taking 2 gallons about every 2 days.

About 5/6 weeks in on the Tangerine Dream. Shes going to about 8 weeks, maybe 9.

The Midnight Fire og is only just starting to show signs of flower. Shes been in the flower room for about 3 weeks now. Dont know how long she is going to go since she just started to show flower. Maybe 9 weeks. We shall see.

Im expecting a minimum of 4 oz a plant, but the ones in veg right now are goi g to be monsters. Theyre already bushy as hell and with the net on them, they are starting to make a lot more tops. So from those, id expect a minimum of around 6 or 8. Considering they will be vegging for about 2 and a half months before i flip them.

Newest Currant Kush. Cant freaking wait for the next light parts to ship *crosses fingers its tomorrow*. If they are fast delivering, this Currant Kush could definitely use some more light on her. The buds on her (clone) just arent as full as they were from the other (seed) plant. They are dense, and frosty, with some beautiful colors, just not as big of buds as before. Plenty, just small in stature i guess.

Well guys and gals, i am pleased to say that we are on the final flush weeks of the Currant Kush. This coming week is her 9th week and the trichs are starting to cloud up real nice. I see few amber as well (<5%) but im letting her go to about 60/40. Also, sadly i guess i wasnt able to save her to be 100% sinsemilla. She has a few seeds from some very small male nanners that were hidden and late to show on the bottom canopy. But needless to say ive only spotted 3. Might be more inside the buds but i dont think so. I havent seen any start showing other than 3 very small ones starting to pop through. Honestly im keeping them. I didnt save any other clone from this strain myself. I do however have 4 clones/mothers from her out at 2 seperate growers spots. So worst case i could take a clone from them. But theres just something about a seed plant that gets me. Bud porn anyone? Also, i know it not be wise, counting eggs before they hatch, but ive counted well over 40 tops. 63 totall top "buds" but only about 42 actual "tops", but if i were to say each topbud was to dry out to 2.5g avg, itd give me around 5.5 oz. Hopefully. If its better than 4, tighter, chunkier buds, its better than my cfl lights which cost me almost double what these leds are costing me. :hump::hump::hump::weed:

Veg closet newest. Training like mad. But the real test for them will be when i put em in flower under a different net and see if they will grow the way i want/trained em to. They are bushing the fuck out tho. Staying relatively short, but thats good as i only have 7 ft ceilings. The tallest branches barely go over 2 ft, 4 inches. And theyre clones so they wont strecth too bad, except for 2 plants in the 10 gal fabric pots and the auto in the tiny 2.5gal fabric pot. Giant scrog in the making. All 7 of these plants are under 320w cob led setup full powered. Big ones have over 20 tops so far. Im keeping it around there, as i think too many more will negatively affect the plants capabilities to make every one a substantial top and not just metiocre. Auto flower will go into the flower room once the secondary light arrives, but right now, she would get better light in the veg room. Plus the more light the better with autos.
