Im not sure i have any of those type screens on my windows 10 pc.it keeps telling me to go to the app store and download a program to open jar files,then i do that but it still wont open,just says to download another app.so now i have like 4 dif apps to open jar files and still nothing.i guessI will mess with it some more tonight . maybe it would be easier on my galaxy note 4 phone because its more automatic on these types of downloads?
I'm on windows 10, all you need is java and probably need to right click on it and go to properties and click where it says "opens with" to make sure its java. First time I tried using it I mistakenly used WinRAR assuming it needed to be unpacked. Then I realised it just needs java to run.

Can you like the. Calculator you are using? I know for fact i have the latest java.i think i might be trying to run an old calc

In my computer the citi calculator is crashing when opened

I don't know if a guest user can run jar, does the calculator require admin privileges?

My antivirus tried to block acess when I executed the jar in ms-dos, maybe some antivirus might be an issue?

I only have the one profile on my laptop so I have admin privileges. I'm sure you can set programs to run with admin privileges even on guest accounts? The only other thing I would say is try rolling back your java to previous version. I havnt updated mine since I started using the calc but I'm sure theres an update so I'm probably running older version of java. Maybe try right click and properties-security-edit to change permissions first though.
I'm not windows expert so just throwing a couple of ideas out there.
Hope something works for you.

The ONLY WAY around this calculator conundrum is to sent you our calculator questions..... lol lol only kidding.
Whilst using the cree calc I think I'd to run it on chrome browser rather than google search?

You need Java installed. But the DIY citi calc doesn't have the clu38s on there I'm afraid, it has the clu048 1212, 1812, 1818, clu 058 1825 and 3618.

You can try and use the citi calc on the citizen website, although that doesn't work for me so not sure on what figures it can provide.
I would suggest using clu 048 1212s at least, they are pretty cheap and better than the clu038s.
If you want any numbers running on the 1212s or above just holla.

I've got Java, and I've also got the Citi calculator, which works fine, but only provides lumens and watts. There are many reasons I went with the 038's for this build, but thanks for the tip.

What's the efficiency look like at 80 CRI? I am surprised to see 43%, expected higher numbers. Also does anyone know if the numbers here are based on Citi datasheets or independent testing from the forums somewhere?

I'm thinking the low efficiency is due to the spectrum difference and the fact its based on lumen output which is not the best judge of a full spectrum.
I know what you mean, I shat myself when I received the 90cri 1825s and looked back at the efficiency on the calc. Theres a big difference.
I would ask @CobKits more about that topic.
Or @nevergoodenuf might have some thoughts on 90cri vs 80cri in a real world environment.

No worries!
They are doing well, hard to give a real comparison since I was a hps guy previous. Everything in my tent has changed, different plant count, veg time, lighting, pot size and type.
I got carried away with too much plant in one half of my tent and yield will suffer due to the over crowding.
I have since spread them out. Didn't remove much lower growth as I used to as a test of these cobs.
Overall though the plants have been very happy and healthy. I cant complain about the light, its great, uses about 660w in one half of a 2.4m x 1.2m and gives a bit less than a 1000w hps would have.
I used to run 3x 600w hps across the whole tent and battled temps often. Now temps are fine, fans turned down and plants are lapping up the light.
Next run I will stick to what I used to do and get a proper comparison(almost)

I am moving more toward the 3000k/90cri as the best do all light. I still might do a side by side in veg with a 5000k/80cri vs. 3000k/90cri. On my DE HPS vs. COBs test, you can still see that the 3000k/90cri still looks closer to a MH, but the growth, stretch, and canopy density are similar. In the picture the front of the tray was 4000k/70cri, middle 3500k/80cri, and the back 3000k/90cri. The 4000k/70cri was replaced by another 3000k/90cri/gen6 clu-058 3618

Does the calculator get updates? I would be happy to figure out how to add new COBs and shit, QBs and ChilLEDs and driver info to this. This is an amazing resource and I would contriboot. (:

Hi guys, i wanted to ask for your help to calculate PPFD, i have 2 Vero 29 C 3000K Gen7 powered by driver 185h 1400, my area is 0.8 m2. Lumen totals are 27,466, lumen / wat = 118. How do I calculate my PPFD?
