DIY COB LED 'Frame': Ideas, Suggestions?

Trying to find some ideas for designing a frame to hold 2x Alpine 64 GT Rev 2 CPU HS/Fans.
I will have two of these 'frames', for a total of 4 chips/hs/fans. I want to keep them 2 separate frames to allow them to fit with in the ceiling of the tent better, due to exhaust location. So the exact fitment inside the tent (from the walls) isn't all that important yet and I'll be able to adjust a bit.

The heatsinks have a ~7mm / .276" edge (<<-- see pic in link) that they could be 'set in to', maybe allowing for some adjustability in regards to placement within the frame/tent. What I had in mind was some aluminum flat bar, 1/8" thick, 3/4" wide in two ~18" chunks. Built into a rectangle, all pulled together with some eye-bolts and nuts at 4 corners, so I have a simple way to hang the frame. I'd actually have to cut out two 2.6" chunks turning the 18" bar into 15.4" wide? But thats fine, I already have the heatsinks 3.5" inboard on the 18" design below...so I'd just keep likely keep them at max width/distance from one another in the frame. If any of this makes sense....

If someone has already been through this and has a good pictorial or walk through, I'd love to read/see it.

I put together a photoshop of a 1:1 scale of my tent and frame design..trying to make sense of it all. See below image.

I'm working with a 2'x2'x3' tent. Will be running 4x CXB3590 3000k CB 36v on a MW 185H-C1400B (likely turned down to ~700mA [23w/chip] or so, and be able to add more with the twist of a 100k potentiometer, up to 49w/chip). May be a bit overboard, but I've been disappointed with the coverage of a 180w UFO LED, and I've also tried 2x 100w cheap CN chips [@ ~60w ea] that just don't provide full coverage at manageable temps.

Check out the pics in my thread, it's pretty much spot on what you've got in mind.
If I'm envisioning your idea correctly lol.

I used L bars instead of flat aluminum. Easier mounting imo, but we have slightly different cpu coolers

Thank you! I'm converting my design to the 1/20" angle aluminum bar. Its 1/2 the price and likely many times stronger/stiffer, and easier to work with.

For other who may be looking, here is the link to Waik's thread : Let The Healing Begin! First Grow- DIY CXB3070

After seeing how easy those Alpine 11's mount, I wish I'd have spent the extra $ for them. It was the option I was looking at, until they shot up in cost quite abruptly. Too many DIY COB builders using them? :P

Awwwww dude my bad! I had the link copied... Stoney bologna'd and forgot to paste it apparently! Hahaha
Yeah that is the theory...I got 4 for $60 shipped to HI. They were a breeze to mount, highly recommended.
I forgot who, but I know I've seen at least a couple people using the 64's with their cobs. You're golden.

Make sure to post a pic when you're done building! Looking at those design skills in paint I'm sure it's going to come out great :D

you could just go with four individual units. that way you would have maximum flexability with moving em around, like this marvel of modern lighting technology, which will be home to a 100w chip in the near future Heatfan.jpg
