Shooting cross-wise for sure. Dude my comment was intended as a defense of using Chinese suppliers, i.e. everybody does it (even Ford). One must be discerning and skeptical of unproven suppliers is all, as in all new business relationships - you as a risk-taking, successful retired businessman certainly know this. Must be some heavy paranoia-inducing sativa or something. "Namaste" indeed.

Since you missed the nuance, here it is straight up: Use any frigging real or fake chips you want in your personal hobbies. But if your plans are to resell them to folks here, get them tested or verified, or expect your would-be customers to be skeptical. Overcome the objection, Sales 101.

Swagat hai!

You fail to read I don't sell shite except services you can't afford trust me you need $5K just to get my attention. I charge $500per hour for my consulting which is why I ain't hurtin for money

driving the same number of diodes at twice the wattage?
YES. running three parallel strings like one board and connected to the other three strings in series and doubled the watts and amps. twice as bright. Constant Current is very flexible. I have three strings each of 35 diodes for total of 101v all three are wired in parallel for a total of 101v and 600mA. I wired that in series with the same set and I get twice as many watts.

u r a hooker?

sorry couldn't resist it..

and with all that dough surely you can send a few metres of leds to the ole Cobbermon to test..

just having fun...
he has more money than me, he sells this stuff. he should buy some he might want to sell the real deal. right now he is having a sale on 40m reels of constant current, 5m is $6/m 40m much less and oh what a party you can have. he is such a nice guy. He makes mine by hand because I don't have those big bucks or that many friends. 40m he makes by machine and gets it done nice, neat and quick I ride harley, friends are few, what can I say. harley and the Girlfriend get all my time, money and attention.

Update time on the natural light mixed spectrum 3500k/5000k no heatsinks no fans no heat. I ordered a 40m reel half 3500k half 5000k all constant current.
Ever think about mounting these diodes on a cookie sheet or any rectangular material.

Looks good so far. How much did the 40m reel cost and what CRI / bin was it? (don't think 90 CRI has a S6 bin?)

I got my DHL notification yesterday, my order of 3500k and 5000k 40 meters constant current and 10 meters of 5000k constant voltage are on their way. I am always happy with Roget and Mufue Technologiy for my Samsung strips.

can you help me a little? I want to make a flowering setup for my 2x2 tent providing 800-1000ppfd with no heatsinks, just alu profiles. How many watts should I need?

Wonder what you can do with Samsung flexible strips?

build a Quantum Board Killer

Tired of waiting for a Quantum Board ? No problem.
First. The science behind the Quantum Board is they use 38 diodes wired in series with 8 strings, this is called 38S8P or 38 diodes wired in series and 8 strings of wired in parallel for a total of 114Vf @ 1600mA for about 182 watts. The DIY model has 8 stings of six segments or 42 diodes per string for a 126Vf forward Voltage at 1600mA, for about 175 watts of power very similar and cheaper to build and have fun too. Mine took me about two hours to lay out and wire together. I had the driver in the closet, bought the cookie sheet.

Second. Flexible Samsung strips are $6/m average order 40 meters. 1 meter is made up of 10 segments of 7 diodes each. Working with strips segments I would recommend using 6 segments for each string. However to compact the size I would recommend cutting the 6 segments in half into 3 segments each and rewire them in series making them 12” long by two strips wide. Do this for all 8 strips. A 40 meter reel of Samsung LM561C S6 bin diodes holds 10 segments per meter x 40 meters or 400 segments. It takes 48 segments to make one board. A reel of 40 meters might run $300 shipping included. For $300 you can build 8 Quantum Boards.

Third. I decided to use 3000k 90cri and 5000k 80cri for all of my builds with Samsung flexible strips. So I cut my 8 segments into three segments each and mixed the spectrum on each column. I provided some pictures to show you how I applied the strips to a Cookie Sheet and connected it to a HLG-185H-C1400B meanwell driver and I have a 175w GrowGreen Flexible Strip Board.

Parts:
1. 24 segments of 3500k 90cri cut into 12” lengths at 3 segments each. $15
2. 24 segments of 5000k 80cri cut into 12” lengths at 3 segments each. $15
3. 22 gauge wire to connect series strings and parallel strings. $ 5
4. 1 Meanwell HLG-185H-C1400B led driver (reuse) $58
5. 1. Cooikie sheet 12” x 13” flat from hardware store $12
Total cost $105

Samsung strips can be gotten at Mufue Technology at Alibaba ask for Roget
Enjoy your DIY Quantum Boards
