sure go here ->https://chilledgrowlights.com/product-category/commercial-led-grow-lights

all questions are valid even if they want what you are not offering today. It seems there a NEW rules on whom has what you want now and where to ask. Etiquette like cussing each other out calling names, playing fan clubs, all childish behavior. When did DIY and getting information be BAD around here? This place has turned into the GOP of Pot heads now.

#FakeNews when it does not resonate with your reality or profit model. New Reality no real friends anymore just business partners where friendships used to exist. no longer.

No real business people just fan clubs for buying and selling from now it appears. You folks have turned into something not so nice any more. Questions only get answered if they create a profit for your friends. How many folks bought into this kickback for profit program. I can name quite a few now but you have revealed yourselves as not open and free any longer but all profit minded from youngest to oldest. SAD realty Profit over Potheads.

Well I am going to keep answering questions honestly and openly, and if it does not point to your product do not blame the answer work harder, ;like I do.

I stopped promoting my controller anywhere around here, because I would rather not sell anything than be a part of this now. To be clear my controller controls eight fixtures not one fixture for less money. That is called kick backs, something I rejected some time ago. I used to work in Vegas I know what a kickback looks like. I was offered plenty of those in Vegas I refused them all. Pay a fee to play along and we will take care of you. same here. no different. bad business.

Thanka for sharing ur 8 fixture controller but the discussion was settled in gentleman like manner n thanks to the thread I got a hook up so uyay me

And this is a thread about quantum boards. You are derailing and distracting from the purpose of this thread. You are asking if anyone is building a competitive product in the thread for guys that are selling these for their livelihood and it is bad etiquette to say the least. Make your own thread and start your own conversation. This is almost as bad as the guy copying their design and then trying to sell it in this thread.
Maybe they should advertise on their website instead of a public forum. LOL

Seriously, this is RIU.org, not HLG.com...

The cult in here is hilarious.

And to address your actual post, please read the original thread title.

DIY... Do It Yourself....

People always look for cheap alternatives when going a DIY route. But more in line with the points in this thread, are any of you freaking out if someone decides to source their drivers or other parts from other suppliers other than HLG? Or for that matter are any of yall fanboys guilty of such sins?

Interesting fact: ~85% of online forum posters do not know there is an easy to use search function on most forums. Also, the definition of "on-topic" discussion must fall into a very narrow band for you folk, especially considering this is a "DIY" thread...

Hem and haw all you want about ethics and manners, everything goes out the window when anyone and everyone can participate... thats just reality. Dont understand why some people have such a hard time accepting reality. Especially when it doesnt really even impact you.

Every industry has fanboys, even DIY LED lighting LOL.

I would venture to guess that HLG have a new version of the light on the horizon anyways and would probably be well suited to start a new thread on that...

Actually im not a fanboy of HLG, and if you read the bridgelux thread you will see i consistently recommend samsung H's over QB's and i have never purchased a QB. Thats not the point, the point is this thread is for QB's and as someone myself who has been trying to learn its very hard to do when every subject you read about has so many distractions and diverging topics. Throw in the guy is trying to run a business and unlike many around here tries to conduct himself in a usually professional way. I may not use his products or even recommend them personally, but i respect what he does in trying to improve lighting for all us potheads and sharing knowledge with us. Most companies do not do this and it likely impacts his bottom line negatively, if anything ive been overly critical of them in the past which i felt bad about upon reflection.

Take that however you will.

And some ppl like to read it all because hidden in the trash pile is always nuggets of gold that search always misses. A perfect example is the info i found out on pricing of getting raw aluminum cut from Gazoo. I'll move along and be quiet now and go back to just reading this 194 page and counting thread, but for anyone to call me a HLG fanboy just look at my post history, im definitely not that.

I do believe in etiquette and manners and respect. Sadly todays generation doesnt.

Running about 60-65% power level of drivers .......
I wanted to mention that i do not raise or lower panel .... During entire grow. They grow that good. Panel has been at SAME height since it was built .

Curiosity, in that second pic showing the top of the lights theres a black box with 2 round knobs with red on the top. Is that just a dimmer?

Followed everyone's instructions step by step. Got the 260w kit wired up (still adding a fuse to the + side so if something happens I won't lose the boards).

Thank you everyone who replied to my questions that had been answered before. It was intimidating but I kept referencing this thread at certain posts to make sure I was doing it right.

It is super bright in my 2.5'x2.5' even on the lowest setting.

@kcir916 Been thinking of moving driver on 260 kit in center for a better balance .not sure. Any thoughts
@Roger A. Shrubber Currently driver on corner as center of heatsink is more hot than corner. Remote driver would be great but makes kit assembly slightly more complex.
With driver on top the kit is around 60C with no air movement. Pretty good for passive cooling

Also thinking of a 260w XL kit. Just longer with boards more spaced out. Should give better spread.

Tested a 90w kit with qb288 and hlg-80h-54a. It was pulling 110 watts at wall.
