DIY with Quantum Boards

Nice. Are you planning to add a third board at some point?
No I went with the Slate 3 after speaking to robin as this spreads the boards out for better distribution of light in my rectangular veg space, but it does leave me the option to run a third board at some point if I choose but in the veg closet would be way over kill.

However I now have (4) board on hand between the (2) QB's I have and can easily create a 1K Watt SE HPS equivalent later if I expand as I want to. I like versatility and try to think ahead with my gear for my grows. This is why I always recommend to folks to take advantage of the dimmable lights and buy more than you think you need, you can always dim the light for the current space you have and then still have plenty of light if you expand later.

thanks for understanding. These were out of stock for weeks so we got a surge of orders.
Reducing the time/cost to DIY a lamp was the main goal of QB project. I apologize if these are slow fulfillment times are bothering some people.
We are working hard on fulfilling order and streamlining order fulfillment.

All Components are in stock and being processed as fast as possible. orders are not pre packaged and packed to order

QB Components, Boards, Heatsinks Lead time 1-2 weeks from order date.

Given the large number of changes to orders and order status emails, looks like it will take up to 3 weeks from order date.
have a great weekend :peace:

No problem, man. The way I see it, we're all going through your business' growing pains together. People rarely get the opportunity to work with a company this early in its development period, so the wait-time must come as a shock to some, but it is what it is. I'm just so very thankful to you guys for making all this available to us, and at an eminently affordable price (in my opinion). Also I can't really say enough about how responsive and helpful you and Stephen are. HLG rocks.

Ordered two hlg 550s. One had a broken connection. Within a few days I had new connectors in my mail box. 5 mins later I'm rocking 2 550s with a third on the way.

Customer service is amazing. Lights more than impress. Next run will be under a mix of QBs and cxbs.

Funny when I take pictures I get that same distortion I did with the hps. They are bright and oh so white :bigjoint:

If you're looking grab while you can :)

Unable to cover the spreading beast with my old burple so swapped lights around. I think abother 4 days of veg and I'll be changing the timer. It was only under that spectrum for a week or so.

They also work as great heat pads for clones! Lol

Was able to pry off my hydro hat and made my own, she's in a #7 pot

The picture below was taken May 24th, the same plant is the one on the bottom right corner of the photo, 4 weeks ago in a 1 gal pot. Vegging under the 4 board rig you see in the photos above.

Question for you guys.

My old tent was 4x4 and I ran a platinum P450 and P150 (260w, 90w respectively) and this last run I added a 400w HPS and got super dense nugs that dripped with resin. Just what I wanted.

Now I will be running a 5x5 tent with 2 QB 260w kits. Will this be enough to keep the density up or should I add the P450? I'd like to keep the density up, especially around the edges (ugh I hate trimming) but based on the PPFD video for QB that might be wasted light.

Thoughts? Total flowering area will be between 3x5 and 4x5 depending on the plants. I will run 3 plants in DWC.

Would the UV in the platinums be helpful later in flower for resin production? Should I run it the whole time?

I was thinking of just running the veg switch if I do run the platinums. Which is half power without all the far reds.

If you go 3x5 why not put the p450 on the side wall to blast the sides of the plants?
You'll get nice buds .

For a 4x5 area you are good with the 2 kits I would think.
