DIY with Quantum Boards

Robin or Stephen, any idea on when you'll have more of the Slate 3s in stock? I noticed you still have some of the 3500k 288 boards in stock, so I was pondering the notion of trying to schmooze the little lady into letting me piece together another 135w kit from the separate components. Don't know that she'd go for it after all the money I've spent on other gear, but it never hurts to ask. Well... That's not always true. When mama's not happy... Still, it's worth the danger!

hi.
If I order a "288 LM561C S6 Bin" quantumboard, I'm fine to run that with a HLG-120H-54A right? ..Same driver as the 135w kit. I just wanted to double check before I ordered. thanks :)
**what's the difference between the HLG-120H-54A and the HLG-100H-54A? I see now that there's a different driver in the pic then there is listed in the components.
135W kits ship with HLG-120
HLG-120H-54A runs max 155 watts at wall , HLG-100H-54A runs max 135 watts at wall
YES QB 288 is compatible with both these drivers and they are both 54 volt

I'm very sorry, Robin, I meant the Slate 2 (I got them mixed up). I believe that's the model that ships with the 135w kit, correct?

I needed the same heat sink, they're out and apparently are about 3 weeks out from a restock. And the slate 2 is what's in the 135w kit!

I dont have the extra drivers should arrive tomorrow.
Sticking them in a raptor hood.
The glass does not have hinges and is a pain in the ass because it wont separate from the foam seal. Basically if its gonna be a issue rather not use it weather it turns on or not.

Im more interested if its going to affect the board. Cant do glass by myself and its kind of a big deal getting a 2nd person so dont want to have issues.

Kind of made for HID bulbs aren't they? Or are you just using it for the air cooling feature? I don't think you even need air cooling with the QBs. I suppose you could still use it if you wanted, just doesn't seem that appropriate.

About the cracked LED. One LED out might not cause a problem current/voltage-wise but probably several would. If it kills the whole board you could probably just solder jumpers on to bypass that LED. I guess they're probably designed in such a way that they still work when some are out. The company rep didn't actually tell us if that's the case or not. At least not right here, maybe somewhere else.
