I agree completely! If they can maintain the level of service they now offer as they grow larger, They'll show other companies what customer service is really about!! I've never had better service from any company ever!

Dont mean to hi-jack the thread... didnt know where else to put this... I just feel the need to give a MAAAJOR shout out to Robin of HLG. I had a pretty severe lighting situation develop... No negativity, so I wont go into too nuch detail.. but Robin went WAAAY beyond anything that should reasonably be expected of him and his company to fix my problem & get my lights up & going. I am disabled, on a fixed income... I NEED my garden, my medicine, & frankly, I would almost certainly be losing my crop if not for him going well beyond "good service". Robin is a GOOD HUMAN BEING, & has earned my permanant loyalty as a customer :) Im NOT selling anything or being compensated - He just deserves the praise, flat out, and more than I can give. THANK YOU SO MUCH ROBIN!!! ✌

At full power 24-30Inches is where I'm at when pumping 500-600watts, any closer and I start to see a light tan colour on the canopy, if left alone the tanning gets worse and the leaves die, so have to back off till they are happy again. Just learn to read your plants as different conditions and different strains can take more and some less.
Thank you! Never had to turn it up as of yet. There about 22-24 inches from canopy. Some strains my vary, but that's what I was looking for✌

I am 110% with you there... I cant go into too much detail, as the awesomest people prefer to do their good deeds in anonymity... but I have NEVER been treated as respectfully & with flat out kindness, as I have with Robin and HLG... Im still reeling, just... stunned how awesome he was to me! Gahh! I feel like the cripple in the Bible who was healed, but couldnt tell anybody about it! Lol Great, great guy... has my loyalty forever

Here's a couple of pics of my new girls, 4 weeks old (6 weeks from seed)
Still going to veg them for another 3 weeks. I just started a 2nd round of Fiming and topping.
Going to be picking 8 out of the 11 very shortly to keep and transplant to 7 gal bags, hopefully I find a home for the remaining 3 when it comes time.

I love my qb's, can't wait until I can get a second light going.
Don't get me wrong, by citizen cobs do I nice job too.

Slate 2 singles and doubles will be back this Friday along with new Triple in Slate 2 series

testing 2 monsters with HLG 600H

Slate 5 Quad - Black Anodized - around 15 x 29 inches
Slate 6 Quad - Clear Anodized - around 12.5 x 37.5 inches

Both weigh about the same. 22lbs with driver, cord, boards, hanger
Same cooling capacity. 55C at 600Watts
Hard to pick one.
I like Slate 6 Quad as boards are more spread out.

That bottom one would be awesome if it was spaced a little more so you could use the reflectors. Or maybe just put the middle boards closer so you can have reflectors on the outside boards

@robin @Stephenj37826 Iam doing a qb build I got 8 qb 304s 2x 320-2800b. 4 boards per driver. I have a 36in X 48in 5052 1/8 inch aluminum sheet. What size screws will work for the qbs I didn't get any screws lows home depot only have #4s no #3s.
Slate heatsinks for QB have M3 screws for boards.
@Stephenj37826 suggested we switch to imperial screws on Slate series. :spew:fractions

I can send you free M3 screws if you want.
Hope this helps
Center holes in board have a diameter of.

My kit came at 131 watts .. After turning it up I was pleasantly surprised when my kill-a-watt read 165 watts...
A friend of mine who lives on the coast (and introduced me to leds - THANK YOU!) had a similar experience - his came "out of the box" set at an output of ~133watts, and reached just over 160watts at full crank... for a short time. After heating up fully, it settled in at ~158-159watts- badass!
