DIY with Quantum Boards

The board design i made was for a 3.3 sqft space. It is not going to provide even coverage in 2x2.5.... unless we raise the lamp from 12" to 15" or 18"

The design below will give more even spread in 2x2.5

Robin do you have it reversed ? Not trying to correct and I probably don't understand ? Your saying a 3x3 uses only two panels and a 2x2 uses 4 ? I'm super close to pulling the trigger on these and just want to make sure I'm getting the amounts right to test for a 2x2.5

3.3 I mean really 3.3 sqft. Not 3x3
Used 2 boards for that.

Boards are just like cobs. You can run a cob at 200 w for a 2x2 or 4 cobs at 50 w each for better efficiency

For 2x2 you can use 2 or 3 or 4 boards on a HLG-120H-C1400
4 boards will give max efficiency and most even spread but will cost the most.
2 boards also fine

Roger that ! Thank you for clarification ! Could always start with 2 and add 2 more down the road with the same driver. I like it !

ok I get it so the fixtures are not fully covering the grow, that makes more sense
Cheers

I feel like these boards will restrict airflow in some spaces to much. That's why I wouldn't use them for side-lighting but I'd like to. Maybe making 3 strip rails w/ 1.5" spaces between them would solve that problem.
My SunCloak uses these kind of diodes I think but they're mounted to aluminum rails. I get great results w/ them. No optics on it but does have a silicone layer over them slightly increasing the blue in the spectrum & making them water proofish.
These diodes are great & do produce dense nug.

so no math expert here at all , that said I'm looking @ doing 2 x 4' area with about 3' of headroom pots included
what driver & how many panels needed, veg/mothers/clones but would want to flower seed runs at times
so a dimming driver is needed
i'm doing two of these set-ups
reflective walls (mylar foil)

I'f you plan on flowering I'd do 4 boards on a meanwell hlg 320h c2800a driver .

This would be ~ 1100ppfd so very bright.

I'd want the capability of flower thou i might never need it , don't wanna hamstring myself into a single use for these
if the a bigger driver covers that ,overkill is better than underkill in my book of life
You could easily flower with 3 boards and a 240 driver. You'd have 860 PPFD with the 240/ 3 board configuration.

4 boards and 320 would push the plants pretty hard.

but the bigger one leaves options for other uses with this build is my why for the bigger driver
for little more extra $ driver costs I can insulate myself from a single use build IF my 2 x 4' doesn't work out to my satisfaction
anything is better than the two mars400's in there right now :wall:
my flower room is 32 3590's this is 4 my genetics on the hoof :P

yes, a supposed grownup having a temper tantrum really impresses me........

personally, the word TROLL comes to mind, isn't when someone throws out negative comments with nothing to back them up, just to stir the pot? no facts, just unsubstantiated opinions. You know what they say about opinions right?

Bro all you new guys on this site do is make outrageous claims with nothing to back it up, you make these dumb charts up that mean nothing. Those lights are junk PCB board lights, oldest LED grow light tech on the market, if you want to see those things smashed up go watch @REALSTYLES break his mars hydro LED, that's the tech those lights use. Junk PCB board tech.

New? They've both been here for years.

Unsubstantiated? They shown more to prove their credibility than anyone else I've seen, certainly more than you ever have.

Dumb charts? Just because you can't read (them) doesn't mean they aren't credible. Dumb is undoubtedly in the brain of the beholder in this case.

Junk lighting? Now you're talking shit and it has cost you credibility with everyone who reads your stupidity. Go look up Samsung 561C chips and actually try to pay attention to what's being said about them this time.

Long rant short; you STILL don't know shit, you STILL post lie after stupid misconception about lighting in general and LED in particular and you're STILL behind the learning curve by years.

Do yourself and the rest of us a favor and shut the fuck up until you've actually gained some relevant and timely knowledge. Someone might make the mistake of believing you, at great cost to themselves.

You're not even a decent troll; you're too stupid and uninformed for that.

I think they look great....seems like a great idea....Quantum Boards...yeah...I think I heard someone say they are like a Nextlight deconstructed! Nice! I was going to check into a Nextlight, actually...but if these boards turn out to be essentially the same thing, then I'm down to try...a LOT less expensive than a Nextlight! I would like to see a high-powered (driven hard) version, too. Fuck efficiency....j/k! ;)

Cool stuff.

I would like to run 2 of these in a 2x2 if possible . I would be fine with 200w at the wall. I would like a driver that I could add to if needed. If the Mars 600 I have now does veg and flower I'm sure two of these could smoke that. Can a driver be ordered along with these boards or do we have to look elsewhere?

Next light? How about next mistake?

These boards are so much better that to call them similar does the reader a disservice.
