I only asking this question since I don't entirely understand your picture. Does this picture represent your whole 5x9 space? If so, maybe consider a light mover? Has anyone used a light mover with Less or do most run them totally static?

I think I'm gonna build a light like the one in the tutorial above but either use two drivers or one with a switch so I can run 2 panels or all 4 panels.
Can someone tell me what heatsink to use since the Slates all seem to be sold out? My preference is for a 4-board extruded one that has reasonable passive cooling, but two, 2-board heatsinks should work too.

The only place I've found to buy custom sized heat sinks was Heatsinks USA. I bought the 7.984 x 12' it is NOT big enough for passive cooling. They must be air cooled. They have multiple options on their site but the price jumps quickly and shipping is not cheap. I would contact HLG and see if you can work something out with them. It wasn't that long ago that they were selling Heat sink/panel combos.
could very well be lack of nutrients.....adding cal/mag to r.o. water....

Which boards are they sold out of? The QB288 is all over the place.
The water I use is well, is 400 ppm high in calcium. I did give them a very light feeding of mega crop though so that may have helped. I'll prob brighten them up again and see what happens.

Some well water is very bad for plants, mine kills my plants, I have use an R.O> filter for all my garden water. And 400 ppms is way too high, in fact, you should filter it for your drinking water. High calcium is bad for plumbing too, it will eat up your faucets etc. Been there, done that....

I do r.o.for the drinking water but I have drank this unfiltered water since I was born less 5 years while I was moved away.(That may explain a few things....) Up until about the 80's we had no filtering system. Not discounting what you are saying but my outdoor gardens both kinds do well. What would be the benefit of r.o. water aside from being able to add 350 ppm extra stuff? I know a lot of people use it but just is it worth the effort? I do know the effects of the calcium, my house was built in the 1910's and some old plumbing is pretty bad. Most is replaced with pvc now. My water ph is about 6.4 so that may help keeping things in solution. Had a water softener for a while, easier to fix faucets than carry salt around.
I think I'm kind of old school in some thinking although that can be a detriment. I refuse to have a cell phone too, don't like the availability. I like my pc though.

have you had you water analysed? just because you've drank it all your life, doesn't mean its good for you. I water my veg garden with my well water, and yep, it does fine. but my canna will get 3-4 weeks old, then look like someone dumped acid in the soil, they look like they were burned by a huge ph shift and nothing will stop it. I've had my water tested and didn't find anything. However, I check the ph of it often and it has some large ph swings, it can go from 6.3 to 7.8!
Having 400 ppms of something... vs 400 ppms of what you know is good for your canna, is that worth doing??? And my R.O filter cost $75.00, not what I'd call expensive. So yes, it certainly is worth it!
I dislike cellphones also. BUT I have one because traveling here in the winter can be deadly if your car gets stuck or you have an accident......... and it only costs $15.00 a month otherwise, I too could care less about it

I did have a new 280 foot deep well drilled in approx 2002 so it was tested then and deemed safe to drink. The previous well was drilled in the 1900,s and had some nitrate contamination from the chicken ranches that used to be here. The previous well casing was letting contaminants in from closer to the surface. I'll see if i can find the report to see just what the 400 ppm is composed of. I'm sure you're right that 400 ppm of good stuff would be better than ????, I've really been wanting to get water to the barn instead of filling approx 25 1 gal milk cartons every week and carrying them in.
I actually did get a cell phone but haven't talked on it for over a year, same reason as you except in CA, I wouldn't freeze, where I live it's not that bad.

You can buy an RO for a lot less and be done with it.
There is that, makes sense, don't really feel like blowing the cash, but I would know what's in my water. I'm looking at the different systems now, lots of choices to pick from.
On a totally different subject, right now I have a Kind 750 on a light mover in the center and 4 qb 120's 3000k, two at each end. I have a new 2 qb 288 3000k fixture that I'm thinking of swapping with the Kind. The 288 maxes at 294 watts, prob run it at less, the kind is 430 watts. Is this a better lighting combo?
I also have 4 qb 120 4000k and 4 qb120 5000k, for the veg room, thinking of moving the kind with the mover there and adding the 4000k fixtures to the flower room.

Well, I reached out the HLG about heatsinks and never heard back so I'm making my own. I bought a 18"x 30" 1/8" sheet of T6061 and start with that instead of heatsinkusa and rails.
I bought a HLG-480h-C2100B last night. I just need a potentiometer, some Wagos, and a little bit of 18AWG and i can start.
Does anyone have a link to where I can find the 4 point light hanger so i dont habe to use yoyos?
