I'm thinking I want that, will be very interesting to watch and listen for your comparison against other lighting tech... im new and have been following you on yt. And have learned a great deal, still havent acquired a light source but everything else is good to go...
How would you feal about building another one?

2 Boards on a HLG-240-1050A dimmed to 250W
Pics of lamp here. 2nd pic

Boards wired like this in series

Sensor used here is an old SQ120. Will make new charts in 2-3 weeks with Lighting Passport Spectrometer

12 inches and 18 inches. No optics on boards.

Tent was 2x2.5 and measurement was taken only in 2x2
this post is very awesome for me bro :bigjoint: i like those numbers @ 18inches also but having that wiring pic for ref is great, thanks.stay tuned for my new panel later, bender guy just called and said good to go :hump:

wicked wicked. Found out what the hlg-185-1400A will in fact throw out its 1569ma.
Which is great if ya push one board pretty close to max like me and wow is it bright.

edit p.s this also explains my 200watt draw on one board 116.4*1.569=182.63 well with voltage accuracy being 5% and efficiency of 94% that get me close enough for me

how hot does it get at 200W?

So where do I get bare PCBs for the Samsung 561C chips?

Am I correct that I should look for "5630 PCBs"?
And not in a way that I have to order 1000 pieces from Alibaba

Or maybe I should stick with XP-G3s.

Search Aliexpress: "5630 PCB DIY LED"
Reflowing on a oven is easy but the whole process (dispense solder paste and pick and place the LEDs) takes A LOT of time if you do it by hand.
For me, I came to the conclusion that its okay for "high power" LEDs like Osram Oslons/Cree XP-*..../other 3535 LEDs but for mid power LEDs... no...better work a few hours more and buy QBs!

Seems like 5630 should be compatible with "5730" boards, they just avoid patent issues that way.
It was what confused me the most.

Now my main problems seems that most sellers don't list how many are in series and how many are parallel, but some do luckily.

I have time plenty

Often you can decode a printing on the PCB to get the circuit information you wanna now:
3S4P = one string contains three LEDs and you have 4 string parallel....
Besides that, sometimes you can even see the connections with your eyes if you look onto your screen from a different angle (at least on my laptop...).

Example:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5730-Aluminum-Plate-18W-36-SMD-LED-Base-Plate-PCB-18-Series-2-and-90MM-20pcs/32603077994.html -> 2B18C -> 2 Parallel 18 Leds serial

Another example without code:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/50pcs-5W-smd-5630-smd5730-Aluminum-Base-plate-5730-heatsink-led-lamp-pcb-for-LED-bulbs/32429324187.html
-> if i follow the traces I see that there a two strings parallel with 5 LEDs each...

Thanks, I can see it on a few PCBs now, a lot are really shitty photos with the text barely visible.
