DJ Gromitz first indoor grow

Hey guys, I'm kinda just making this journal for my own enjoyment but if you got something to post or any advice go for it.

Anyway, right now my seeds are still under the soil (planted them 3 or 4 days ago). I've been keeping the soil moist but am still kinda worried that I haven't seen anything poke up yet. I'm definitely new to growing indoors but am a somewhat seasoned outdoor grower. I have about 300W of CFLs that are all adjustable so that I can move them as I please. My grow area is somewhat large... probably 4 feet by 2 feet with normal height ceiling. I am not using all of this space right now of course...probably only two square feet.

This morning when I watered my seeds I watered them with a very watered down Bacto solution. They are in jiffy pots and I have about half my lights on them to create a little more heat in there. The seeds came from Nirvana and I ordered the indoor mix pack just so I could see what would grow best with my set up and order that again next time. I had previously bought skunk one but the germination didn't go so well because the seeds got cold in the paper towels when I went away for the weekend.

I doubt anyone read any of that but if you did then...I will be posting pictures of my set up and everything when I finally see something come above the soil (pray with me...I really need it). Also I may try to turn this into some kinda "guess the strain" towards the end since nirvana sent me 2 seeds each of five different strains but they were all together so I had no way of telling which seeds were which strain. They include Master Kush, Skunk 1, Afghan, Pure Power Plant, and the mystery....Nirvana special.

Stay tuned and wish me luck, I've had none so far.

yeah, my grow room is very dry...my humidity is around 20-30% (should I invest in a humidifier). Anyway I had not watered them the day before and the top of the soil was dry as well as a inch or so down...should I have not watered them. I have never done the indoor thing but always used to screw around growing little sprouts that my parents wouldn't notice only to kill them when they began actually growing, however this time I can't seem to get anything to grow...am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the advice...Gromit

ok, thanks man...I'm turning the lights off right now. I have a little space heater I can throw in there but currently my temp is around 85 is that too high?

Alright so I got five new little children. I'll post pictures when they grow some leaves since we've all seen a million pictures of seedlings already.

I wont be able to post pictures for a few days since I'm away for the weekend, but as soon as I get home I'll post some pictures of my setup and all that.

Ok, so I haven't really even looked at this thread in a month but I figured i should at least post some pictures now that I have a camera. I know they are a little stretched out which sucks but i have enough room for tall plants so it could've been worse. Anyhow, any other advice or criticism is greatly appreciated. I'm thinking about putting these babies into flower in about a week or two.

On a side note I had a question...so I cant really build and exhaust vent since I can't cut any of the walls in my closet or anything. The room seems to get fine ventilation and is actually quite drafty in there during the winter. Do you think that buying a powerful fan and rigging up some sort of carbon filter would help to decrease smell even if it was just circulating the air in the closet rather than pushing the air outside the room?

Bra, I think they are lookin fine. Maybe a little stretched, but I'm not sure if it is the strain. Yes, yer idea fer the smell will work, as long as the carbon eats the odor.
Keep up the good work, long time since ya been here!

Thanks for the reply...I know I haven't been around for a while, real busy around here. I'm not quite sure of the strain either. I ordered the indoor mix from nirvana and they were all just mixed in one bag. There are two that are much shorter and the leaf size is much thicker, so I'm assuming they are Sativa Dominant. The other three are Indica dominant. My 5 different types of seeds were Master Kush, Afghan, Pure Power Plant, Skunk #1, and Nirvanva Special. Anyone know which of these strains are indica and which are sativa.
