I know there are some real vert veterans round these parts so I figured you guys may have some pointers . I have 6 donut style around one 400 ways hps and another 6 under t5s. I will be breaking out two 600's or possibly 1000's this week when I flip em. I see a lot of people run 600's vertically more then 1000's is there a reason?. Its my first time doing vert and so far I like it. As you guys can probably tell i have taken off all of the growth that would be on the backside of the plant, just picking it off as it grows. Basically if it doesn't get direct light its been coming off. These are in a 1/3 coir, 1/3 compost and 1/3 perlite. I amended it with alfalfa, crab meal, srp, azomite, lime, and some humic. Let it sit for about a month and hit it with some ACT's while it was cooking to kinda set the whole mix off. put mycos, azos, and great white into transplant hole upon transfer. Im using the house snd garden coco base with some of there supplements. Thx again guys

Lookin good! You might consider some sort of cage around the light to train the plants into. As your buds start swelling, they'll start falling over into the light without some kind of support. Hack at the back and bottom of the plants with no abandon til your ready to flip. If it doesn't make it to the light, loose it. I love my 1k's. They are hot, so you have to deal with that. A small fan under the light will do the job. 2 400's stacked would give you a larger footprint.... Your plants look happy and heathy! Once you go verticle, you will never go back!

Hey thx bubba,
Yeah ive seen people do that with either a cage around the light itself to prevent the plants from growing into it or a grid/fence put behind them to train/secure them that way . Next time I will probably do a grid behind them as it seems peeps have been able to open the plants up well this way. This time around when it comes time im probably going to just go with strings from the plant to the ceiling for support.
I also had some strange leaf curl starr to pop up on the tops closest to the light. Figured this was from heat so I moved them a couple inches back and theyre coming back around. Still finding the sweet spot so to speak with the height and horizontal distance the light should be from the plants. Thx again
