I agree.. your at your max on the N

ive done the same thing on my plants cuz I sprayed them with aminos a couple weeks back

the yellowing
first likely iron def (my bet)
second likely if its not iron then zinc
its not as noticeable when leaves are not as dark of a green... but I like the lush foliage

its mild and common in the first couple weeks of flower
itll likely subside on its own by the 3rd or 4th week of 12/12

if it bothers you
I would recommend spraying with something that has iron in it (normally calmag) but in this case you don't want to add additional N so youd need some iron supplement without the N

does kelp have iron? not sure, maybe not enough

my plants had the same issue
just did an experiment spraying half with zinc EDTA and half with iron DTPA

the iron made the yellow into dark green almost over night

your pheno seems to grow taller than mine. do you have a dominant "sweet lemon" or just "lemon" smell?

So yesterday (day 16) I gave her 2 mls of this

20170105_222355.jpg

and she seems to have improved slightly overnight. Had a mini disaster with her, she grew right into the light also over night, meaning she grew around 4 inches in one night. Luckily I had the cfl over her rather than the hps, so the damage was minimal.

Because of this i have started to tie her down now..

here she is today (day 18 ) .. white hairs all over now, shouldn't be long before she starts to bud up.

If you chop that top cola all your little side branches will go nuts with growth. I think that's something you wanna do before flower though. Looking good man
hes no longer in veg
hes in flower

don't cut the top off

you can tie it gently to the bottom pot if itll bend that far but careful not to snap it off

I crush the main stalk flat between my fingers about 10" down from the top (to prevent snapping the top off)
and fold it over and tie it... the crushed tissue will knuckle over and heal with 3 days and the top will bend up toward the light

bent.JPG

it doesnt seem to noticeably reduce yield if its done within the first two weeks of flower stretch

the top will eventually try and stand back up so tie so it ends up about the same height as the lower branches after it curls back up toward the light

here is a pick of one I just did 2 days ago (week 1 of flower) this plant was taller than the others so I brought it down to the canopy height

later in life when it gets heavy the trellis net will hold it from falling over...eventually itlll stand almost straight up again if you don't tie it down

if I had tied this one I could have kept the top about even with the lower branches
in about a week shell look like she has 3 or 4 main colas at the top

if you try and bend it like this without first crushing the stem between your fingers...itll snap off

I do this too. Usually only in veg. Occasionally I find a plant who can get bent like this and get topped for great results. Instead of tying I just have hooks around my pot to latch stems under at different degrees around.

That canopy definitely evened out. Nice work on the stem bend!
thanks! She has very flexible stems and would be perfect for those who like to do more hardcore lst or mainlining. I myself have had great success with this method of bending down the main stem... its supercropping without the snap. I predict a great yield with this girl for real :)

the little extra N helps thembe flexible if you want it

I have 5 in flower just ahead of you... all 5 are very tall... one of the 5 is sweeter with harder buds the other 4 almost duplicates of each other
I spray my silica mixed with azamax worksgreat

1 oz azamax or neem oil combined with 1 oz silica blast (do not ph adjust)

spray 3x over 2 weeks and your stems will be super stiff with zero flexibility

and get the added benefit of the P.M. knock down with the high ph the silica will provide

similar to what greencure does by using ph up and soap (green cure is basically a powdered ph up with a powdered soap)

Yeah those fans are pretty damn big dank lol...

and thanks satori that's good to know, I'll try it out next time.

So, today is day 23 of 12/12 ...and the damn stretch. It's still going. I think since I flowered so early she will probably
stretch to about day 30. Hope not though she is getting too big.

Also things are getting a bit tricky. I woke up a few days ago and she was showing lots of deficiencies, virtually overnight. This is what always happens to me, things look great, then overnight some night it just goes to shit and I don't have the time to fix it. Thankfully I think i have fixed it this time.

Basically she was looking very pale, a few of the baby fans at the bottom had yellowed out, and there were a few spots here and there on the big fans. I figured she must have just depleted the nutes in the soil so I gave her 5ml per litre plant magic grow and 2.5 ml per litre biobizz bioheaven.

It certainly stopped whatever was happening, and she does seem to be greening up again. I figure another full strength grow and maybe a few mls of cal/mag next watering, then hopefully proceed with bloom nutes after that.

If you zoom in you can see she is budding up quite nicely. Her smell has actually died down somewhat in the last week, rather than skunkyness stinking out my entire upstairs, she now has a more subtle hashyness, the stems when rubbed are fuely/ citrusy

I'll check back in for an update on day 30.

OK, so bit of an update today. This is day 28, week 4 of 12/12 , and about week 2 since she began showing sex. I count proper flowering from when the white hairs appear so really i have another 7 weeks left. Oh, I also didn't mention I have her on a 10 hour light 14 dark cycle since week 2

For better or worse I have experimented with lollipopping for the first time today.
Just stripped everything I knew was going to contribute to popcorn and low quality bud. I have a good idea of where the 250 watt hps is effective to and I believe what I have done is for the best. It will reduce the smell in the house, it will reduce the humidity in the closet, it will make harvesting a hell of a lot quicker and easier, and hopefully, all the nutes will now go to plumping up the budsights which are recieving good light. Time will tell.

Today I also started her off on her bloom nutes and gave her half strength plant magic bloom along with half strength biobizz bioheaven. Half strength because I dont know how she will react to having less leaves.

Before her haircut...

after her haircut....

and how the buds are forming up

if im cluttering up your journal please say so I understand and will just watch... just say the word

I wanted to say if you don't mind... I wouldn't be overly concerned with some very mild yellowing at the lowest fans at 4 weeks into 12/12 or less (14/10)

I have run 14 hour nights and have noticed no reduction in yield as a result... during the last week ive even run 16hyr darkness

otherwise they look very green and your huge fan leaves are a result of having enough N

its natural for plants to show a small amount of N reduction going further into flower

what would be worse is to accidentally feed to much N this far into bloom (not saying you did)

I think she looks amazing... personally I do some fan leaf removing starting after week six of 12/12 of less

Not cluttering at all bro.. I appreciate your inputs and im glad your here for the show :)

There may have been a little too much n.. But that was mainly down to poor soil mix choice. Im now on the bloom food and buds seem to be getting there..maybe look a week or so behind, but i can live with that. Hints of frost appearing too , so im thinkin she will be lookun nice a few weeks from now.

I guess a lot of people might think i went overkill with the defoliation but from experience ..all that region of the plant is popcorn.. I am 80% sure this will be a great sucess..

Btw she stinks really bad .
