I grew 2 Purple Kush from BC but from seed. My grow room is not humid and I had no trouble but what I created myself. One lived to fruition and one nearly bought it due to PH issues. Good vape. Great taste and smell. Looks are deep purple and exotic.

@greensanta... Im from interior B.C. Man and I've got 4 top notch kush lines going with no PM problems. I've started 2 from seed and got 2 from reliable friends who are anal about cleanliness like I am. It's really all about who you source your kids from. If the guy you get em from has shitty habits or the guy before him does then you will end up with bugs or pm. Kush is no more susceptible than any other strain but it is the most highly sought after of the strains in B.C. 90% of the clones around here are clones of clones of clones and passed around more than a small town whore. It's all about origins and cleanliness. PM is a bitch to get rid of once it's present. Best thing to do is buy seeds and start clean if you want to avoid pm

As a side note the market here in bc demands kush. There's 1000 dollars ddifference on average for the kush name compared to most other strains with the exception of a rare few. If you can get a cut of tuna kush like I've got it means a difference of 1500-1700.

I also (grew) Royal Queen OG Kush! I don't think it's anywhere close to real OG. I just chopped my plant
down on the 8th at nearly 8 weeks flowering due to herming. Ironically, the Royal Queen Seeds claims it's an 8 week flowering strain, so there wasn't much room for it to grow/swell/improve imo.

Never saw any PM though, but my humidity sits at 20%, sometimes less--and with good exhaust.

Any pics of your R.Q. OG ? Mine had ZERO calyx growth, no bud structure--just pistils everywhere, wasn't lanky at all as OGs are known for, and much too much leaf. Sample buds I smoked did not get me anywhere near the "high" of an OG. More of a mid-range strain that you need to smoke a good amount of to feel. I killed the clone and won't be growing it again.
Your lucky you got anything at 20% Humidity.

Very poor conditions.

I saw my plants suffering due to low RH when I started growing, since then I take humidity seriously.

You got bad weed due to poor growing conditions bud, imo.

yeah i am on the Island and i have asked around quite a bit, seems like most people on the island have pm issues with their kush and use chemicals... anyway I just ordered landrace Hindu Kush and Pakistan Valley so ill make my own lines and test em in my setup.

I find it hard to believe that under optimal condition a healthy plant would get this disease. By the way, 50% humidity is very high, I bet you your humidity at light off is around 60%!!
Try out straight Romulan in perfect conditions..

I'm lucky I got anything huh? Wow. I find so much misinformation on RIU that it's pathetic.

My humidity is NOT the problem at 20 percent, and it has absolutely nothing to do with my crappy plant. I live in Los Angeles where (REAL) OG Kush is rampant, and the Royal Queen rendition (at least the one I got) is NOT OG Kush, no matter how you try to slice it.

Have you heard of varying phenotypes? If anything my low humidity helps the plants--pack on more resin to "shade it from the sunburn" and protect it from dry conditions, hence more resin glands.

Tell me how low humidity causes a plant's genetics to be not what the breeder has claimed?

My Northern Lights, Super Skunk, Juicy Fruit, LSD, etc all have large, dense, beautiful flowers as they should and have had no problems with low humidity, in veg. or during flower. Sorry, but your opinion is way off on this one. By the way, the OG Kush in your pics looks to be another "fake" version that's flooding the Internet/seedbanks.

I love the Okanagan Valley! I spent several years as a kid in Vernon. Very fond memories

I’m telling you how I grew Royal Seeds OG Kush since you didn’t manage it in your environment.

I tell you that 20% RH would most likely have been a hindrance in your quest.

And you get an emotional breakdown about me trying to help you right the wrongs of you first attempt?

Nothing fake about it, kicks like a mule, with an incredible aroma.

It’s been a big hit.

And oh, don’t take the timing on the seed packets too seriously, these typically take 10 weeks in flower, my current one is in it’s 11[SUP]th[/SUP] week, so you pulling yours at 8 weeks you had at least another two weeks to go.

My ogs dont get piwdery milder, my kush strains do not get mildew. Sure i can see these strains being more fragile then others, however im a firm believer that powedry mildew occurs due to growers mistake
