Just looking into it i know its what luck that it was even brought into the grow house "fimming" i mean but is it accurate? Id like to say that i try to do it on purpose and most the time it works what do you guys think about fimming is it better than topping does it need more recovery time? And ive only ever topped or or fimmed my plants once i know you can top more than once but what about fimming? and do you think fimming is worthy ofbits place in the green house or is it looked down on by growers? Let me know what you guys perfer and think

There is a third method. If you follow grand master level on youtube, he doesn't do either. He pulls the leaves off the top without fimming. He leaves the tender bud be and just removes the fan leaves from either side. Hard to explain but he has some vids up on it.

People who have tried it swear by it.

I've done both fmming and topping, and probably lean to fim. But I'm trying the new gml method now.

interesting.i couldnt hear it very well but it sounds like removing leaves stunts the top, allowing the side branches to catch up?

whenever a leaf/node is removed damaged etc hormones are sent through the plant, like it was getting eaten or restricted, those hormones(auxins/cytokines) cause the plant to produce more side nodes beneath the damaged area in order to survive its task of making flowers to produce seeds. Putting a Frisbee on the top of a plant, or a garbage can lid outdoors even shows this action very clearly

Thats a pretty cool idea too never thought of that have you ever tried this method could you just put a solo cup over the main top to gain more gain on side branches?

It's happened to me more often by accident outdoors than on purpose indoors, but I have done similar. anything that inhibits growth , fire, scissors, twists and bends no matter the results are the same. If you cut the are instead though you can train for multi colas etc.

Fim is better on short grows and the question is irrelevant on long veg cycles, both work fine.
