Dresser Grow Issue

Hey guys, great site i have been reading here for a while now.. Finally my first grow! Anyway so my babys are about a month and a half old. They are some chron bag seeds. Temps in the box are about 81. I didnt have enough cfls to just use those so i started them with the 150 hps as well. They seemed to like it except now the leaves on the bottom fan sets are browning and dying. Plant growth seems to have quite slow. I am using some Advanced Hydroponics Sesni grow bloom AB for ferts mixed in w some 1/2 distilled 1/2 filted tap water ph balanced to 7 every 3rd watering. I water them just about every day and a half.. Do you think the issue is related to fertilizers or the humidity being so dry from the hps?? THANK YOU!!

I would say underfeeding or you have something goin on with the soil and I know this sounds like a dumb question but are you checking your ph after you add you food to your water?

Ya I am I try and keep it right at 7 with some ph down after i add the food in..Since Im using hydro ferts in a soil grow i should just feed them every other watering to avoid nutrients just sitting in the soil right? It could be this shitty Jiffy 100% organic seed starting mix. hmm mayb its too acidic or something.

I would def get some high quality soil and try to get your ph to around 6.5, 7 isn't too bad but 6.5 would be better

This is an unrelated question but whered you find a 150w hps?

So I guess its not worth it to change their soil till next grow cuz those roots have quite a hold.. any suggestions on what soil to look for at the store? I hear bad things about the miracle grow mix lol

Ya the hydro store is like 2 hours away tho... i have a home deopot and walmart.. lol

Your best bang for the buck is get the 3.5 cf bale of promix, it comes with or without food added.. But if your gonna use promix then it's VERY IMPORTANT that you add dolomite lime to it. 1 cup per 1 cf of soil, or a couple weeks into flowering you will run into ph problems
