Dry/cure wine cooler techniques

Hi all, I wanted to check in on people who built a cannatrol clone out of a wine cooler to see what methods of drying/curing worked and which methods did not.

This is not about building the unit itself, that is well documented on this forum and others. This is about the method used once you put the freshly harvested flower in the unit.

The method I was planning on doing was setting the INKBIRD to 59% (temp at 66) with a 5% difference value. Eventually reducing that down to a difference value of 2 or 3%. For curing, I would increase to 61%. This is trying to copy the cannatrol and since this is not a cannatrol, it could go poorly. Hoping the ppl using these coolers are still active and can share some valuable insights.

Start higher than 59% or your poor little dehumidifier will never stop running if it's full of fresh flower. Mine actually freezes solid if I try to go too low, too fast.

@Hook Daddy may chime in as well. He has his dialed in really well.

I find about 3 weeks dry, with inkbird set at 62% and around 10’c gives me the best results. Try and put the unit somewhere that’s allready cold.

Yeah to dry and store, when I take it out to smoke, it goes in a jar about 7g at a time and that dries it up abit. But I’ve found storing it below 62 speeds up the degradation
