I have three plants that i transplanted from hydro to soil...they took quite well. recently i have noticed the tips of some of the leaves are yellowing and dried. Some leaves are also curling down. i am using Shultz 10-15-10 Plant Food Plus for nutrients. I dont think its heat because its under all fluoros and maintains 70-80 degree temps always....here are some pics any help would be great.

also using same nutes and soil on seedlings and seeing the same thing...

My first thought is nutrient burn.

Is the soil pre-nuted? If so, then the additional nutrients are burning the roots. Try using no nutrients or at the very least diluting the concentration of the nutrients you add, and use absolutely NO nutes for seedlings until they're about 2-3 weeks old. I usually wait until the seedlings show the first signs of needing nutrition.

I'm not too good at deficiency ID yet (so you should take more experienced folks' opinions over mine), but my guess is you have a little bit of nute burn. When you water just use plain water for a little while and it'll go away.

Also if it's just the very tips of leaves and they are curling under you could also be overwatering, but since the burn is also on the sides of your leaves that points to nute burn as well.

btw, I HATE schultz 10-15-10. Burned the shit out of my plants with it at 1/2 dose. I threw the stuff away, switched to guano, and never looked back.

It looks like the beginning of nute burn. Keep an eye on it. Give only pH'd water for a couple of waterings and see if new growth looks better. If not then you know your problem is something else. Schultz doesn't have all the micronutes in it. Only manganese, iron and zinc. If you are using distilled or r/o water you may need a calcium and magnesium supplement. Hope this helps. bongsmilie

Why? Seedlings dont need any nutes until around the third or fourth week. You will burn or kill them for sure.
