Good for the fast dry, but as wishmeluck said ... air dry is best. Just trim off the big fan leaves, then hang the branches upside down from coat hangers. Have a fan GENTLY blowing on them from across the room. It will take about four days or so. After that, cut the buds off the branches and put them into brown paper bags like you get at the grocery store. Have them in the bags loosely with the top of the bag folded over. Check them a few times a day. The bags will bring out more moisture. You kind of have to go by experience here, but when the buds are just right, do the final trim, then put them into glass Mason Jars. I use the quart size. Close the lids of the jars. Air them out a few times a day. After the buds are dried to the point where mold won't form, they are ready for the curing process. You can vaccum seal the buds in the very same jars. Here's a site for a really cheap vacuum sealing devise that really works like a champ. I use it all the time. Just be sure your buds are dry enough to leave in the sealed jars.

Hope this helps you out ...

a month of curing is the magic number. anything longer and you will very slowly start to lose THc. but very slowly. i usually cure an ounce for about two weeks then smoke on that to keep me happy and let the rest cure for the additional two weeks

I hang to dry for over a month then trim the buds and cure them in glass jars (make sure you burp them for the first couple of weeks because mold can be a bitch, burping is just taking the lids off for about 15 minutes to let the damp air out).

While it is true that THC levels fall off, with aged pot, this process is much slower than many people think. Last night I smoked some Big Bud that was from my 2004 grow. It was very smooth and it got the job done.

I have used a dehydrator but only when doing a water cure which is a totaly different subject.

Hope this helps somebody!

The dehydrator is something you use for a quick high. I think the heat prolly messes the bud up a little. The bud will taste like a plant and just wont be very good at all. But for a quick high it will be ok. I have one also and I dont really use it anymore. I just dry it correctly now.

I think a jar is the best way to store it. It will be good for atleast a year. It will lose a little over time so you may have to take a couple more hits. But all in all it will be fine. Plus with my experiance, good weed never last very long. :)

Hang dry for 1 day, then place in a plastic container with a lid. Open lid once a day and stir the buds around. Leave lid off for about an hour a day. Do this for 1 week. This will cure your buds correctly. May have to do for longer than a week depending on how wet the buds are. After a week or so you can leave the buds in the container for up to 3-8 months. Just make sure the lid seals tight!

Ok so I ditched the food dehydrator idea. Cut down the smaller of my 2 gals this mornin as she looked ready, and have her hangin in the barn with a small fan blowin gently to move the air around. Have not done any trimming yet. How long do i leave her hanging to dry....how do I trim her up properly? I have a big glass jar 1 gallon or more for the curing process. Don't want to screw things up now. I've saved the leaves of my males to make some hash oil will add the trimmings of the gals....any advice will be appreciated. Growin the plants seemed easy compared to these final steps to get some good smoke.

Well this is the way I do it and it works very well for me.

I hang branches from my plants to dry on ropes hanging inside an old barn. There is little light and a cool breeze (most of the time). I do this for about a month sometimes longer.

I trim after the plants are dry. Trim goes for bubble hash buds go into glass Mason Jars. I take the lid off the Mason jars for about an hour each day (this is known as burping) to let the damp air out. Watch for mold at this point and remove any buds that start to show signs of mold.

Once you are satisfied that the buds are dry just leave the buds in the glass Mason jars. This will provide you with a good cure.

Keep these Mason jars in a cool dry dark place. I still have good bud from my 2004 grow. It is well cured and smokes very well. It is true that THC will start to be loss, as time goes on, but it is my experience that this takes a very long time if you store you buds this way.

Two last tips;
-if you store your buds for a long time in plastic you run the risk of your bud taking on the flavour of the plastic
-you are wiser to use more than one glass jar, that way if mold becomes a problem you don't loose all your buds.

Hope this helps someone with their drying and curing questions.

Well both the girls are hangin trimmed in the Barn, trimmings are in paper bags dryin for blender hash. Couldn't wait another month or two so I stuck 2 small buds in the food dehydrator on 95 degrees for a few hours.....and lit up some....took 4 tokes.......wow.......slowly building high which lasted about 3 hours...dam didn't taste too bad either........

You know I have heard that before about plastic containers. And yet to this day I have not had any off tastes or oders from doing it this way. I used to use mason jars, until my wife started getting upset over her jars beings used for pot! lol, imagine that! I have heard, read and seen so many different ways of curring budd that it makes my head spin just thinking about it. One thing I like about the plastic containers I use is that the THC that does fall off the budd is easy to clean up and smoke. I just use a credit card to scrape up the stuff and then load it in to my pipe. Fantastic stuff to smoke.

As I always say "Each To His/Her Own" The main thing is not to allow your budd to dry out way to much, or allow it to sit wet in any kind of container allowing it to get moldey, YUK.
