Drying dilemma.

I have an overgrown mess and I also have one of 4 plants is a different strain and finishing faster.

I'm in a tent and it is ac and smell controlled.

If I have to cut at different times what the hell am I going to do.
The house would be near 90 so I think that would be to quick of a dry.

I can try to hang sheets in the tent in different layers so air still moves??

Sheets like towels to block airflow? I'd say thatll help given good space tween buds, also pay attention to rh% ontop of that 90 temp

It would be sheets to block light in the tent. The tent is 9.5x5.5. So there is room for grow and hanging

Yes, a wardrobe box has a bar in it, box of any size will do though Poke holes in lid and push branch through until you get a sidebranch to hang on.

Be mindfull of where u put vent holes so as not to have direct light going into box

Shit on my lack of citation but I read somewhere that the first 2 days after the chop that theyre still alive and a little indirect is actually good to continue some photosynthesis to burn off extra sugars and ripen the resin- but dont take my word for it I'm probably full of shit
edit: I figure its the 81*f warm air over my hps that would be stripping terps moreso than any (noticeable?) thc degradation from indirect light that might give it some energy as it slowly dies

that happens in total darkness, it is not photosynthesis. Its decomposition.

Which happens over time, the darkness delays drying there by lengthening the time for chlorophyl to breakdown among other things.

"keeping the plant moist enough to stay alive (similar to a cutting) and still maintain gas transfer..through this natural process of hydrolysis and respiration the components are broken down" - quizoking

That helped clarify a lot
I was wondering to try to dip the plant stem in water similar to keeping a clone moist for a day after its chopped to prolong the dry, i guess since it helps clones stay alive it might lengthen the dry and preserve more terps, thanks slab!

Do not get creative, you will ruin your harvest.

The DARKNESS is all you need.
They keep drying out to a snap in only 4 days, I'll try hanging them outside the tent to avoid light + excess airflow, without creativity how could anyone grow higher quality dank? Always push for more perfection IMO,
why not soak the stem in water like a flower in a vase for an hr? Seems like that could add a few days to the dry + flush some, if the buds stayed dry what could go wrong?
Edit: besides that I think tying brown bags over the buds for short periods helps preserve flavor, darkness may be key but there's other tricks out there

Hang, box, brown bag, zip lock jar.

Trim off fan leaves and lay them down in a smaller box. Everytime i switch to next stage they re moisten due to air Content in container.

Takes me about 7 days of hanging before i go to next stage. So, you are doing great newbie :)
