No prob. There's an excellent sticky in the harvest and cure forum. At least i think thats the right name for the forum..kind of blistered right now. Found a hermie in the middle of my beautiful big boobied ladies. It had the prettiest cola, got to checking rest of her. And there it was, lil dick n balls just a swinging.

i have a computer fan on the floor of my drying room, but not directly on my buds.

the fan is only there to help circulate the air because my basement has very bad circulation and buds can take up to a month to dry properly (it should take 5-7 days)

if your in the 7-12 day mark to get the surface dry before curing starts your on the right track.

If it dries to quickly. You'll have trapped chlorophyll in the bud. Making it taste and smell like crap.

Thats why the point of drying is to dry it as slowly as possible.
Curing is the same thing as drying your just doing it at a much slower rate. And in a Jar.

i have my fresh buds hanging and i have a fan blowing right on them? is this a good move? wiill it help dry faster?
your going to screw it up man... I'm telling ya right now, your going to be pissed when your buds dry too quickly and all that chlorophyll (responsible for giving the product that 'green' or fresh hay smell/taste) gets trapped in the product because it was dried too fast/quickly.

Drying should be done slowly.. same for the curing process.

I'd highly advise you to not point the fan directly at the product.

What you want to do, is point the fan away from the product that is drying, but leave the fan on.. and put it on low or medium (depending on the area size of where you are drying the product). What you want, is just some air circulation.. you don't want to point the fan directly at the product.

good luck.

I didnt realise it was the chloriphil that gave it the bad taste and smell......Thanks for the Info, i now have the fan jus circulating the air around the bud, not directly on. Is it ok if the bud is slightly moving ffrom air circulation or no?

no the buds should not be moving at all. you should not be able to feel the air circulating, just know that it is circulating.

the slower it drys the smoother it is.

im currently on week 3 of drying my diesel. super slow dry. then 3 months of curing THEN it will be some of the best weed people have tasted.....

what temp do you keep your dry room at ??? I'm guessing 65 F since it's that slow of a dry...

Just keep the air circulating under the buds if it's drying slowly turn a fan on the buds for a couple hours a day. If you grow good pot you can dry it fast an it's still good I regularly smoke buds 4 days after harvest I actually like the high and the little spicy flavor of fresh buds

Hi guys,
RH makes a big difference too, socirculation of air can be a little more aggressive if RH is high. I live on the coast with really high RH and have to run a dehuey just to get buds to dry at all. I use a small desktop fan on low and put it a ways away so plants get blown on...but very gently.

Haven't got a answer as of yet, I never grew before so I'm stumped at what to do
tell us about your drying space...heat, temp, humidity air exchange. Mostly you will have to watch buds. I had some airy sativa buds that dried in half the time as more compact buds. Too many variables to give you a firm answer.
