Dwc question

I have a scroge dwc setup and I started all from seeds, I had 3 males so I had to chop them but by this time the roots are tangled and would be impossible to get out of the Rez plus I have them scroged, so I'm wondering will those old roots hurt the grow? My plants look great but the ph would always be dropping and I'm wondering if this may be because of the old roots? Again there was probably not much that could of been done and my buds are real nice looking but I'm curious if they would of been even better had those old roots not of been there

Here's a few few pics for fun

I also started flushing with final phase on the 18th and I'm switching to just straight water tonight for a few days that's why my leaves are looking brown/ yellow

Generally, ph going up means they're eating, ph going down means they aren't...unless...you have some pathogen in your res, which with the old decaying roots, you probably do. I believe it's their waste that lowers ph.

How much longer they going?

I'm running just straight water not ph'd and I'm planing on cutting them this weekend
I checked the tricomes yesterday and the look just about right so I'm hoping they will ready by Friday/Saturday

i agree with the above... if the ph is going down, then the plants are putting nutrients into the water rather than taking them out. Nutrient levels being too high causes those ph readings...

I've had all sorts of dead roots in DWC tubs doing 3 re-vegs in a row and nothing bad ever happened. The plants aren't putting nutes into the water but the dead roots may as they rot which won't hurt anything as long as there is lots of air bubbling to supply enough O2 to replace what that process consumes and plenty for the plant to use.

Thanks for the imput, iv cut mke plants out of other dwc grows toot and everything seem to grow ok, just wanted to mke sure they weren't hurting anything like if the dead roots weren't thee the buds would be doubled in size kinda thing

Just trying to make every grow Better than the last haha
If ya check out my journal I documented my first maybe second grow with hans pannel LEDs from a few years ago and comparing to the pics in this post my growing has come a long way.... Plus I threw a 600w in there too haha

SM90

3ml per gallon ..

I use it religiously for my RDWC DWC. As a matter of fact I don't grow without it. Ever !

I drop it out at week 7 flowering.

It's my number 1# backbone to growing. I can't praise it enough. You will never ever have root issues using SM90. It won't allow rot or pathogens to take hold in water/res.

Not only that but it kills Fungus Nats and or thier larva in the root zone, especially soiless potted plants. It also keeps hydroponic equipment free of gunk and clogging hoses lines ect up.

Here's of a couple pics I got when we were cutting image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

I left to much stuff under my scroge screen so I had a lot of popcorn buds and stuff it's hard to cut all those bud sites out haha, next round I will everything leaned under the screen. I did a some nice colas and they seem pretty dense but I'm hoping next time they will be better and longer and less popcorn buds

They sure are! I'm drying in my tent now, my humidity was sitting at 30 so I have a warm mist humidfier in there now and I got it up to 40% so hopefully everything works out good now
