DWC sizing

there are times I need to be gone for 3-4days at a time.
don't know if anybody mentioned this but have you thought of trying a hempy bucket. about the simplest form of hydro.

the way i had mine setup was an autofeed system. i've been away for 14 days without any issues.

and not to change your mind on the dwc, but put the dwc bucket so it's the easiest to access, not in the middle of 4 soil plants

once you go hydro, you'll never go back.

Nice on the basment.... easy test put water in a bucket on the floor for 2 days in the loght cycle and see what the temps are if its below 66 or so you might want to add an inc or to of rigid foam under it.

Just read what i said about keeping it easy to fill (which filling can be pretty easy).

But if you have a big plant thats hard to move draining can be a pain (i used to just let mine drink and top up).
I built the platform today and put it in
I will put a bucket in their and see what the temps do.
Good idea

I do electrical and plumbing as part of my job
so I plan to plumb in fill and drain lines to whatever container I choose
just using a small transfer pump

got a bad back so lifting less is better for me

The room already has a plumbing drain and hot and cold water.

I will look into a hempy bucket

the bucket will be able to slide forward to the edge of the tent. that the plan anyway lol

Just looked up how a hempy bucket works.
is that ever simple.
I could run the overflow drain straight to the floor drain in the room.
no air pumps or res changes

Oh no.....................now I have more reading to do......

on the bright side I can keep the center spot of my tent for trying different things

that's how i did mine. i used my old rdwc tubs that had drains to hold the hempy buckets. best part about them is you can't over-water so they lend themselves to a automatic feeding set up if you are so inclined.

right now i'm doing the same setup but using GH waterfarms that i modified to be better for autofeeding. i can leave these alone for at least a week if needed.

more for you to consider. lol.

To auto feed I assume you just have pre mixed water/food in a container and a water valve on a timer?
yep, i have a 30 gal trashcan res outside the flower room. one pump with a 6 outlet manifold goes to the plants. one small pump in the res to act as a waterfall: aerates and keeps nutes well mixed
