I have an eight bucket 50 gallon DWC everything is running really well ... except at night my temperature goes down to about 67° I think my ambient temperatures are between 66 (with lights on Veg) at night and 80 during the day .. i’m running a black dog 1000 LED and a Mars Pro 2 epistar 320 .. plants love the light great root structure ...I’m just worried about the temperatures at night so far I haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary with the plants and they seem to be progressing well ... any thoughts on that 67° temperature in process of ...trying to remedy it now .. also this is week 2 of veg from seed

Thats not a problem at all. They probably like that 13 degree temperature swing. As long as the humidities good those temps seem fine to me. Whats with the 2 in the same bucket there?

Do you chill the water during the day?

A lot of folks like to keep the water at 67 to 70 degrees. How I have my rdwc setup my temps stay at 70 without a chiller, 80 is a bit high watch your water.

Between 63 and 68 at that stage is perfect. When I get into week 5 of veg I go as low as 60 and they thrive. Colder water holds more oxygen.. when in flower my swing stays between 58 and 68. No problems thus far and thus far is quite a few years.

Thanks so much for the replies I really appreciate it thanks so much for the replies I really appreciate it ....No I don’t chill my water temps during the day .. i’ve been relatively lucky water temperature is usually between 66 and 70° .. i’ll take another water temp today at the hottest part of the day to check but the hottest the water temp is ever been and 70

And honestly my plants seem to be doing very well though I was just curious to know if there would be any long-term effects from having the ambient temperature get down to about 66 inches to 68 for roughly 2.5 hours

I am going to try it this round they are still seedlings now I have it at 71
I'v never let my water get above 68 for very long... Nasty things can happen with temps at 70 or above. I just watched a friend of mine lose 2 rooms because he had difficult time with 70+ f temps.. Root rot that no amount of H2o2 could cure.

So you let your plats get down to 60° during veg and you haven’t had any issues I’d like to follow your pattern because I’ll probably do the same thing would you mind sending me your ranges.. also keeping your ambient temperatures that low make it easier to keep your reservoir temperatures in check as well I’m going to try this out this time

I think my chiller runs cold. So i usually start at 71 and reduce to 65 thru the grow.

Room temp and water temp are two separate issues for me. I keep day time room temps at about 76, night time gets down to 64, 65ish... The last couple weeks in flower I go down to 60. During veg I maintain Rh at 55% During flower I decrease weekly until I get to about 35% during last 2 weeks before chop.

Hell my water sits at 70 all day and then drops to 68 at night. I run my well water in my setup and never had an issue my plants stay happy. I glad I don’t need a chiller.
