Sorry for the pointless post, simple minds like that annoy me though, nice setup there sqydro as usual and a nice job as usual, hopefully one day ill have the room to run a similair setup and not just single buckets, one day :)

so you mentioned i flooded because the roots clog the pipes..

you never mentioned who you solved it and how to avoid it?

should I install bigger pipes than `.5", Maybe 2 inch or 3 inch?

roots never clogged and it flooded because i knocked the auto top up float valve off. dont go in your groom drunk is the way to fix it lol

yield was just shy of 40 crisp dry, one plant yielded 15oz on yielded 4 lol pretty unstable genetics tbh but i have a reg female of her so wel give it another chance

Yes i'm almost certain airstones and the fact my roots are growing thru the tiny net pots and dying, constricting themselves to death. OMG I saw this coming in last weeks but couldnt really do much without killin, idk what ill do, im doing a h20 flush asap then remix, i may use peroxide but i dont wana yet, this tea you speak of , i need to find it,

Well,

I liked you until you said your on other forums....

jus bustn ur nuts dude....

Actually, Im wondering what are you reading? Id be interested in checking out the material your basing your ideas off. You know growers are always lookin for that next method. all tho I think they all have their Pros/Cons.........

But this is the first im hearing of this airstones can be bad thing, I always figured they are mandatory to provide enough air. but I am fairly new to the dwc,and undercurrent systems.

I just like the simplicity of Flood/Drain.....

im really starting to be bummed i went with a 3 inch net cup insteaD OF a bigger lid one..... they were fine when i did it the other way. I hope i dont lose any of them, sad, but learning

well what i mean is i have 5 gal buckets with 3 inch net cups cut in tops instead of the whole lid being a net pot, the bigger pot full of rocks would help keep the thicker big roots inside the net cup, gosh i hope i can flush with water, if i have to i'll h202. an i hope that the roots can make it... PLZ 5 more weeks b 8 wekks. i need 7 more. 10 week flower, i vegged5 weeks. gosh another nightmare but i will NEVER use the 3 in net cup in my dwc again, esp being sativa dom these rooots get big, bigger then the indicas i've started

cup size is irreleveant mate ul not get big useless cord roots as long as you keep the water level above or touching the net cup bottom they big dreadlock roots are called air roots there pretty useless apart from support and there is a full million page thread on the tea i use mate i learned it right here, look in the stickies in the bubbleponics section thread by hiesenberg root slime cure i think its called, read alot of it its a life saver in dwc mate

Cup size is very relevant if you don't have a way to support the plant. I had some extra 2" net cups lying around so I cut holes in 5 gal. bucket lids. I grew two plants like this and I cussed my dumb ass the whole time.

This thread has me fascinated! I had to join to be involved as I delve into designing and building my first ever RDWC (and most likely with NO water-pump (hint, airlift... then gravity :o)

Totally dig it, sqydro! I very much enjoy the experimenting of it all - have to say that I'm growing with both stones and a GH Hydrofarm halo drip that is reverse pressure activated from air pump, no water pump necessary, and these provide waterfall irrigation, but I'm battling overwatering and had to throw them on a timer, so I left the traditional stones on for 24/7 air...I'll be watching you to learn something new!
What made you decide to use the Halo Drip for a delivery system? I'd love to know how you're making the Halo Drip "reverse pressure activated from air pump".

I'd also love to know how you're making the Halo Drip "reverse pressure activated from air pump".

Did you opt for this due to the fact that it oxygenates the water well by dripping into it?

Lastly, what are you guys referring to "overwatering" if the roots are submerged?

I found this novel idea for oxygenating a large reservoir (55-gal.):

The KeepAlive Recirculating Kit (for live bait wells on fishing boats)

http://keepalive.net/recirculating.htm

Take a look at the videos.

The cost is not outrageous, but not cheap either.

Maximum DO with nutrient circulation ...

Great stuff. Between your posts and UCDWC, I'm up until the wee hours every night planning my system. LOL.

Can you explain the cord root comment and what the water level should be in this setup?

GM15
Got it workin its fucked though i think just reads 0.00 a at all times :(

I have them touching the bottom of the net pots so i avoid cord roots mate
Nevermind. As I finished reading the last two pages of this post, I answered my own question!
