EasyKush 2 day old seedling... does she look ok?

My first ever time planting, or even seeing a cannabis seed :-)

OK, so I planted my germinated OG Kush seed in a 4" garden pot with Fox Farms Happy Frog and Roots Organics with a little perlite mixed in. I put it in 6.3ph moist soil, and have not touched, watered or done anything to her since. The picture below is her today.... 2 days later. I have her under a 42w CFL on a 20/4 schedule~ the light is about 2" away. Temp is 75 and humidity 45 in my Apollo grow tent. Am I doing everything correctly?

Thanks so much!!!

Looking good. Don't feed until those round leafs whither away. With your light that close don't get any water on the leafs or you'll burn them up. And just so you know, a surface painted white reflects more light than aluminum foil. And lastly, I see a decent amount of wood chips in your soil, this will lock up the nitrogen if the soil is not amended with anything. When you transplant get some good soil, fox farm or something of the like. If you don't mind using synthetic nutes then check out pro-mix or just buy a brick of coco and a bag of perlite.

Thanks, yes I should paint that pot she is resting in white. I don't even know if she needs to be resting in it, just figured the more light I can reflect to her the better. I dont have any woodchips in my soil that I am aware of.....I just used Happy Frog by Fox Farms and Roots Organic original soil with a bunch of perlite. I was thinking of using Fox Farms Trio for nutes when the time comes. Im just so nervous I will hurt her! People say the less the better, so that is what I am going to try and practice. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!

If it's ffof there should be enough nitrogen rich amendments to counter the high carbon content of the wood chips. Most potting mixes will contain some amount of wood because most mixes contain "partially processed forest materials" which is more or less sifted top soil from woodlands.

With a balanced carbon to nitrogen ratio wood chips are a good thing. They help aerate, retain moisture, and serve as a food source for your beneficial microbes. Nitrogen is required by the microbes to synthesize proteins, carbon as a source of carbohydrates.

Do you have any mycorrhizae supplements? If not I recommend this especially in ffof, http://www.fungi.com/product-detail/product/mycogrow-soluble-1-oz.html.

The one oz pack doesn't look like much, but I've still on the same baggie after 4.5 grows. You only need to add it a couple times in veg and a couple in flower, they multiply in your medium.

So you have tinfoil on the pot? If so I would get rid of it. Seedling looks very happy. Good luck.

I have her in a black 4" plastic pot, and I just set that inside a larger pot covered in tinfoil to reflect light into her. should I just take her out of that larger pot?

Yup. Tinfoil is not a good material for light reflection. It creates hot spots. I also have a young og Kush on the go:)

There's not much of a need to reflect light at it at this point. Once you're about 3 weeks in and have a nice bushy canopy you'll benefit from a reflective chamber. I'd just get some plywood and 2x4's and build a grow box with the inside painted the whitest white you can find. Or better yet tack some Mylar or panda film up on the inside.

It's not essential to keep it enclosed, if you live in a legal state you could just hang the lights in the middle on your living room and call it good. There are, however, a few benefits from a grow box/tent. Easier climate control, more efficient use of lighting, and discretion to name a few.

The tin foil is not hurting it by any means, it's just not as efficient as other materials. But with a plant that young, reflective surfaces aren't important. Right now all that seedling cares about is good lighting and the highest quality water you can provide.

Everything looks good and will be good for a little bit but have you put any thoughts into your next move?

Were you not a smoker before the vote? Lol how have you never seen a seed?

I have her in a 3x2x5 Apollo tent. I ordered a 210cfm fan with carbon filter and they should be here in a few days. I have a Mars Hydro 300, but not sure when to start turning it on. Right now I just have her under a 42w cfl. She is growing every hour....what a rush! Still no touching, no nutes, no water, just letting her do her thing! I just watched a time lapse video on youtube of a cannabis seed germinating and growing, it was incredible the way they grow and move. VIDEO

I was not a smoker before the vote, but jumped around screaming in joy when the vote passed because I need to grow for my daughter who is sick and does smoke. No more worries about hiding it. :-)

I really didnt like sending cash to gorilla, so now i am using my credit card with True North out of Canada.
