Remo is a great grower and a really smart businessman from the looks of it. As a small-time, personal-use grower, I can't really relate to a lot of the equipment he rocks, because it's set up to accommodate a commercial style of growing. He has alliances with many companies and I'm sure he gets many things comped for showing them off in his videos and occasionally getting the reps on as guests to embellish the sales pitches even more. So, by not paying for the stuff, his savings are great! He can rock SKs all day long -poorer efficiency of not! The lights have paid for themselves even before he turns them on for the first time.



People see the videos, they like Remo's vibe and they want what he is using. I can dig it!

Would I need a 5 ton A/C with QB boards? I don't think so. I also have a $200 dehumidifier from Ace Hardware that is amazing. I think it is 50 pints. Dumps into a 5 gallon bucket. A real workhorse. 2 of them could handle that room.

Remo is kind of a more animated Canadian version of Big Mike.
If you have equivalent wattage of QB's to the wattage of SK's he is using you would need a 5 ton A/C....
Unless you have the new magic unicorn QB's no one else has been able to get their hands on :P

Which brand of dehuey? I'm on the market for one, my room is about 10x10 (with 4x4 and 9x5 tents inside) .

I am not bashing SK, I think they have above average lights and the new ones looks okay but Remo talking 5 ton A/C was a big negative especially if that room is in Canada. If it is in So Cal then A/C will be needed in almost any room.

A lot of times, the tools used in growing, e.g., lights, controllers, CO2, dehumidifiers, humidifiers, heaters, coolers, etc. can almost overtake the entire focus of the grow room -instead of the actual plants that are produced with them.

I have sampled some of the best tasting and most-effective cannabis, in my life......grown under fluorescent shop lights. I have also, in recent years, had the opportunity to sample supposedly "elite", commercial strains grown in HUGE, recreational marijuana-producing greenhouses, grown with the absolute, state-of-the-art HID systems and automated everything.....The truth is, the fluorescent tube grown stuff, (at least in this instance), was a lot better than the "professional" stuff. Go figure. I'm not cheerleading for fluorescent lighting. I'm just pointing out that, with or without the best grow equipment in the world, results will be variable when it comes down to the actual plants.

We all want the best equipment because that's human nature. But the equipment can only do so much. The rest is up to a good, green thumb and Mother Nature!

Think about it...All it takes is ONE, great seed to pop and a good grower might end up with something that ends up becoming historical, e.g., the "Chemdawg" legacy. I'll bet when that lineage first started out, it was probably grown under some type of inefficient light in an unsealed room without CO2 enhancement and no controller. I know this was the case for many of the old-school, legendary, "greatest" strains of all times, as well. The equipment used in those days wasn't super-efficient. There wasn't any spectral analysis of the lights used. There weren't any specialty soils or nutrient regimens. And yet, it is those OLD strains that are talked about and it is those OLD genetics that are so sought after now.

All of that stuff was grown under relatively-unremarkable conditions. Growing marijuana in the old days, was...a secret -kind of like making moonshine with a homemade still -or in the case of growing weed: converted streetlights, fluorescent shop lights, etc. If you knew anything about growing marijuana back in those days you were taking a big risk....a BIG risk. Unfortunately, that reason is why the stinky strains went away. If those old strains were really still around today like they used to be back then, then no one would be nitpicking over micro moles per joule -because everyone would be high again! :) -j/k ...but jus' sayin'!

People will spend a lot of money on something like a tool if they can be convinced the tool will provide a superior result in the final outcome. But, the definition of "a superior result" varies according to the goal of each user. I want the old school dead skunk and the old Thai strains. I know there are people who say they have the seeds....but IF those genetics really did exist, then the entire marijuana scene would be a lot different. What we have now, instead, is the technology (the tools)....kinda like a telescope that can see deep into outer space. But what we are really looking for is in the past. What we should be building are time machines!

Im just gonna say more light = more yield

So yes you could probably grow weed under a flashlight and get few gram of puffy weed but is that really what you want?

More you control the environnement not only do you get more yield but also better quality yield. Skills of the grower have certainly impact on the final results but not the biggest part of it 60% light 10% temp 5% humidity 10% nutrient(not saying only added nutrient but just make sure your plant gets what she needs) and 15% grower skill but that MY estimated guess.

Genetics trumps everything else. Modern strains have been developed for yield, pest and disease resistance... and to not stink. Old landrace strains were often so acclimated to their specific growing areas they didn't always translate well into indoor growing environments.

P.S. I wouldn't care what the yield was if I had the choice to grow some genetics that would produce a truly black licorice flavor like some South African landrace strains are known for- even if it meant having to flower it for 16 or more weeks! And it wouldn't make a bit of difference to me to be able to grow a plant that could yield three pounds of bunk -no matter what light and nutrient regimen I provided. It's all about the genetics.

Agreed. Genetics above all. Some of the best weed I've had came from a plant that went through hell (deficiencies, pests, shitty environment) - the yield was low and the buds were small, but the flavor, aroma, and effects were sublime.
