Eazyplug Pyramid G & S challenge.

Thanks for sharing your grow notes. Good stuff. It will definitely help with decision on the mini or full size. I have only used pre-charged plugs at the seedling stage. Jedi Kush Auto seeds are hard to find. Drop a Skywalker Auto into a full size pyramid and harvest in 3-4 months. So eazy.

Do you train or top to get so many side branches?

btw, you need to take care of the algae.

@solakani as I said, this is my first big pyramid, I expected the same result as the mini but bigger, I chose the Jedi Kush auto because I've grown it enough times to know that is what I wanted in both bud but even more I knew I didn't want a short stocky plant so I went with the leggy and bendy Jedi Kush that is easy to spread out to get the canopy. That was the plan, alas, it has somehow grown in exactly the form that I did not want, but it's my first one and I have no comparison so I'll just have to see what develops is it because of the plug, I don't know. It was looking the same size as my Gorilla Cookies a few weeks ago and I thought this is not very good, but as you see the buds are nothing like I've seen not just from Jedi, but from anything I've grown, even plants that looked similarly stocky. Two weeks ago the buds were big but hardly any trichomes and I was a bit worried but she is starting to get some very dense trichomes going on. I really need to open her up, but it's impossible. I'm going to have to do something, fortunately it's winter and very dry otherwise I could have a bud rot situation.

Yeah, at first I was spraying with some H2O2 which I still do sometimes. When they first start to get a lot of algae, I just take the small ones in the shower and scrape the algae off with the shower hose, it's fun to do. But after they get older I don't bother because the outside texture changes and it's not necessary to get it all off what you see is what's left and it doesn't do any harm. I was worried about fungus gnats burrowing in but I need not have worried If you cut them open you'll see the algae only extends a millimetre. Plus it does no harm and looks pretty. You get the hang of it after a while, but I'm sure everyone will have their own ways of working, I've just gone for simplicity, if I had plumbing delivering the nutes, then I'd cover shade the pyramids so they wouldn't get algae in the first placep.

I top everything because I cannot bend them over. But topping works better with these anyway. Also we had an unusual cold snap that turned gorilla and jedi leaves purple, and this cold came at the stretch so I don't if it was the cold that did this. However she's about 10 weeks old now and the leaves are all still healthy even if they do have a lot of purple-black and dark green leaves. Usually at this stage the leaves are looking ratty and are mostly cut off, but not this one, so maybe something special will eventuate, that's usually the case when I'm disappointed early on.

Lemon Pie Auto returned 68g which was a bit of a surprise but not much she is very heavy with resin and dense of bud.

Amnesia Auto returned 118g is down, with my biggest yield yet from one of these mini pyramids . Buds are a little meaty for my taste but plenty of resin but not really covered. I'll have to put some through the slug33 and see how that goes, however she is strong, I'll give her that.

Next one coming up, is Jack47XL AutoShe started of strong but she appeared to be a little underwhelming at 7 weeks, I was little concerned, but at 10 weeks she is probably the most attractive plant I've grown, with beautiful olive, khaki and creamy beige colours, she looks like she is already dried even as she grows. The trichomes are so fat and cloudy that it just looks covered in fur, instead of crystals. Here is a sneak preview. I'm estimating close to 3 zip. These are all one litre pots remember!

Just curious, how did you get a yield weight only 3 days after taking it down? June 29th to July 2nd? They look pretty cool though. GJ

Pyramid shape with the right plant will make it look like an artsy sculpture. The marketing pics show pyramids with white beards so that would be a criteria in this competition.

Interesting! I might try the 1.5 liter Pyramid Minis at some point.
The small pyramid is a great way to begin to understand these things. I tried a starter plug in the cube and the result is just like a solo cup but without the inherent solo cup problems of watering or overbalancing.jack47cube - 1.jpegjack47cube - 2.jpeg

OK after a year of this I think I'm getting the hang of these plugs. Here's a pair of AK47 autos from mediseedman, they were the plumpest most vibrant seeds I've yet seen, one in a small pyramid and one in a large pyramid both hand watered. they started out with a similar phenotype and they had the same nutes and a fresh bucket of nutes was mixed up regularly.

By about 5 weeks the structures were markedly different the small one had it's six main stems but the eight main stems on the large pyramid were more spindly but there was quite a lot of very thin branches. The large plant was opened out with LST clips to give space in the centre. At five weeks I was a little disappointed in the result. But what a difference three weeks make. When they began flowering the large pyramid was about a week behind but she's caught up again in the past week.

The small pyramid has faded nicely but the large pyramid is only just now beginning to fade. The buds are chunky and tight but the small one looks like a Fastbuds flower and the large on looks more like a typical Dutch Passion, neither look like the photo in the catalogue, which didn't look very appealing anyway.

Gonna try and make it another two weeks unless it looks like they need to come down earlier. Two weeks ago they looks pretty ordinary looks like about 4 wks worth of growth in the past two weeks.

Hey @Burndoggin glad you like them. I'm not familiar with megacrop but my instinct says that a hydro nute like gh or gp3 would be better. Also the large pyramid is really way easier.

Here is an orange cookies auto by Tastbudz, this one chunked up pretty well. I lots of broad fan leaves and I experimented by doing some heavy defoliating like almost all the fan leaves and also a late topping at the sixth node. Buds are dense and resiny from top to bottom, it's nugs, all the way down. 74 days from sprout.

Do you ph the water?
when I mix up the bucket it's usually either correct at around 5.8, or I start there. Especially because if I want to add some water early on I'll just use a bit of tap water. As long as the bucket starts out right it doesn't seem to matter much it's very stable.

btw got 89g of some very strong bud covered in trichomes off the orange cookies, and it does have an orange taste. Not lemony or pine, or diesel. Needs a bit more curing, but it's a big thumbs up for this Taste Budz.
