Hey guys just a quick question or two, whats is the supply and demand of marijuana there right now? Is supply exceeded ng demand? How much does an ounce typically go for retail? Is it possible to open up a marijuana coffe shop there now?

I would love to open a coffee hop but I doubt it will happen. I do believe the market will be molded and that more people will come out of the wood work who are growing or already growing.

Current retail prices can be found in the ads at Westword.com

I don't buy cannabis so can't say for sure but I think $150 or so is the going price per ounce. As for supply/demand I anticipate "Green Rush" 2.0 coming when retail shops get authorized - in about a year from now.

It is not possible to open a coffee shop now. Who knows when/if they will become legal. I would bet that "members only" clubs will start popping up where people can buy a $10 cup of coffee that comes with a free joint. It is currently illegal to smoke in public but you know someone will try to get around that. They may well get arrested for their creativity too...

A road trip sounds like a great idea. I also like the idea of a coffee accompanied by a free joint.

In Chicago where I grew up there were bottle clubs to get around liquor laws prohibiting sales at certain times. You brought a bottle of your favorite drink and they sold/rented you the glass it was poured in.

I am thinking a lounge where members could smoke would be nice. Food an beverage sales as well as renting video games and a kind of coffee house atmosphere would be nice.

an oz can be 160-280 in boulder/denver area at the dispensary. prices higher depending mostly on location of the dispensary imo. seems like price hasnt changed much yet but im willing to bet my next harvest that it will. Tough to say if it will go up or down. There will be a higher demand obviously but with everyone allowed to grow its hard to say if the supply wont sky rocket as well.

Yeah my initial thought was that once completely passed and enacted supply would probably exceed demand greatly at some point but then I started thinking that only a handful of breeders can put out top of the line product which I believe won't fluctuate price much since it can't be reproduced unless someone found a way too.

The company I work for is currently all over Colorado and I'm not sure where to move. Any good ideas? Possibly somewhere close to Denver but would like to live on a decent plot of land to grow a few plants. I'm trying to stay around 200,000 and under for a house. I'm also in school so if there was a university near by that would be cool. Aurora looks like a nice place can anyone verify that?

Denver is like the asshole of Colorado, the closer you get to it, the more it stinks. Just kidding, but personally I hate traffic and the rest of life that accompanies 5million mouth breathers huddled together in a valley. If you "have" to be in Dtown shoot way north or way west.... then again wtf do I know?

Got any more moronic insights? Referring to the residents of the Denver metro area as mouth breathers is what stupid assholes do. Just because you prefer living in the sticks does not mean Denver is a shitty town.

I'm 10 minutes from Denver and less than an hour from great skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking...

You are the mayor of Dumbfuckistan, you provincial troglodyte.

Awww I guess it is hurtful if you consider yourself a mouth breather and was offended by my obvious joke, but back to topic, Denver has traffic, you can't even get out of the city in an hour...
If OP's company has places "all over Colorado" then there are many other places I'd choose, sorry you got really butthurt, maybe you wouldn't be so stressed if it was truly as awesome as you say.

EDIT: Also pitbulls are banned, isn't really relevant to OP's discussion but its another reason I only go for short visits haha.

Why do you visit Denver if you dislike it so much? Are you a moron?
I'm not offended by your opinion, but I am a bit put off by your stupidity.

Clearly you were offended or you wouldn't have cried about it and personally attacked me. Since you asked though, last time I was in Denver it was to pick up some 303 gear from kind love don't plan on going back for a while, Im a bit put off by your douchery, must be a denver thing.

Look I'm looking for a few acres to grow on and have a job close by. Would like to keep the house cheap as possible possibly a fixer upper?

western colorado is much less expensive and has cheap housing. mesa state (now colorado mesa university) in grand junction or fort lewis in durango are decent schools with land and cheap houses near by.

Maybe when the denver expert is done throwing his little temper tantrum he'll come back with some actual help instead of just trolling. I'm sticking by what I said, sorry but a "few acres" is going to be a very tall order while staying "in Denver". I'm sure there are areas available, but they'll be pretty damn pricey I'm sure. Best of luck man, wish I had better help for you.

Does Colorado currently charge a "user fee" or some other tax to buy or sell medicinal marijuana? I'm curious because that can affect the supply and demand figures for the market. I'm interested in this because if recreational use is allowed in Colorado then I would imagine the taxes for its use will be higher than it is now. This would lower the demand compared to a lower tax or no-tax situation. If the suppliers are not getting the money from tax then there'll be a price gap where both supply and demand would be lowered by some amount which I do not know. Just curious what ya'll think about it.
