I tried cali connection sd and was not happy now its time to try dr greenthumbs sd

I received 11 seeds when I ordered, I germinated 4 and all popped

I grow outdoors but I put my plants under the light at night during veg, during veg I never bother with light cycles they get 24h light...I leave it out when im done with veg...

Apologies I dont keep track of weeks in flower etc and never have.....

sd 1 on the left...sd 3 in the middle....sd 4 on the right....Ill repost pics before harvest of sd 1

Sd #1 is Vigorous and has fast growth...Have it in Outdoor Scrog

Sd #2 Died but I have a small cutting growing and looks totally different then the other 3 with tons of branches

Sd #3 Is growing very very slowly..I put it into flower even though its short to see if its worth my time

Sd #4 Is vigorous but grows a bit slower then sd #1....This plant is now going into flower and should have long tops...I had it tied down so much that the center stalk split...Its healed now and I tied it down again but decided to untie it so now all the tied down branches is long tops pointing straight up

Sd #1 is putting on weight and its getting more stinky, still smells fruity..The bud structure has now changed and looks very unique inline to dr grubers sd picture, overall a beautiful plant with nice structure...

Sd #3 the small stunt is growing nice and slow

Sd #4 is doing great and will have multiple long tops..

Pics are sd #1 from 2 days ago, very big differance today with structure and smell but I didnt take new pics

I loved greenthumb and cali, I hope you find fire in there too !
Hey no hijack but the did you see a bunch of different phenos in the cali version ?
Also to everyone here what kind of smell and flavor are we all getting off of greenthumbs ecsd?

no bunches of phenotypes. but keep in mind....this is normal here, I see variations sure, but they all have been very much good representations. no duds for me. from either greenthumb or caliconnection.
sour diesel smells like fuel

Our gardens have a lot in common. I'm growing currently to see what if any subtle differences are between all the diesels. As with "phenos" I'm not seeing a lot in any of the chem plant family.
Ecsd sounds like a great rubric to go by.
Thanks!

Just for info, could I ask what you didn't like about the cali sour d?
I picked some up a while back, and don't want to waste garden space if I don't have to.

want to know where I saw a multitude of phenotypes? DNA's pack of Pure Afghan, untested direct supposedly. I bought a dozen packs. got a dozen more free from them for the project and then went wild. wow, talk about phenotypes....yep cherry, blueberry, chem, lemon, pinesol, gasoline, skunk, warm garbage, roadkill, roast beef, fruit, candy, and even a pineapple phenotype. I was convinced this is where our staples originate. with a Punnets Square, time and love any of these traits could be exploited to the max, and have been. These were raw, unfiltered goodness untouched it seemed. unlike other favorite gassy's for instance. the other thing we noticed is the effects. Most of these were obvious indicas, yet when smoked they were undeniably the supposed reported effects of a sativa. They sent the unseasoned into paranoia etc. Interesting to me because now when I purchase supposed indica from a today breeder it seems ttl opposite in the effects dept.

in the ends I find a small change in feed or light, or c02, or temps do change these terpene profiles more often. a case a genotype vs phenotype often ime. My product grown with chicken shit ends up different than the same clone grown with a bottled nutrient, I could cast it as a different phenotype every time if I chose.

Gonna have to agree! In my case that's every plant I've ever grown. Soil microbes, altitude, temps. Time of year its grown, humidity, light source, intensity, angle, yes even moon phase, not to mention sound, terpenes from neighboring species, predation, training, damage. The list of what a plant is dramatically changed by is endless. An ecsd in hydro grown at sea level is an entirely different beast at 5000 ft in living soil with 3000-3500 k cobs.
Possibly unrecognizable!
Anyway, I'm convinced there are fewer actual "strains" than people realize.

I take back what I said about cali connection because back then(over 6 years ago) I didnt do clones so when I received the unfeminised seeds I bred them...I did grow some out direct though which I cannot seem to remember the quality which tells me I forgot about them fast...

I grew out my bred seeds several times over the years and had so so stuff...BUT I had one of my bred seeds that I stuck in my aquaponic greenhouse and it grew into a 6 inch plant which rolled 2 joints...It was fire and I never cloned it, it had the full sour diesel flavor which made me really excited, and even the roach retained the taste.. I never found fire again in my bred seeds... Then again I gave up the chase for the pheno after couple cycles/couple years of only ok stuff

So if I found fire with my bred seeds im sure you will find it, I hope

This is a hawaii grow 1100 feet above sea level on a mountain

Sd #1 Looks good but I dont know if im impressed yet, I dont think its fire...Most vigorous of all so far, clone is vigorous as well

Sd #3 Im more impressed, looks dense and danky, it was the slowest of the 3 to grow and is the current midget of the 3. The clone I took is growing faster then the seed did and for whatever reason is out growing the clone from sd #4

Sd #4 Is currently in early flower and is a beautiful mid tall plant....Hey wow this one is stinky, im excited for this one...

Sd #2 is a clone I took from the now dead sick plant, its also sickly and im having a hard time with it, probably trash it...

All 3 smell similar, I have a hard time describing the smell...Ok I went back out and played the squeeze me smell me game...It smells like sour diesel nuff said...But sd #3 has a sweeter tang to it

pics are sd 1 then sd 3 then sd 4

I pulled out with tweezers 3 growths on plant #3(dense plant, yummy)most likely a male pod, sour d / chem trait...Cold Front brought temps down and I wanted things Hot for the finish

Very very little pm on plant 3 which I plucked off, I can tell it is resisting the pm as it is not spreading, must have been the rain/humidity we had...

So much rain with record low temps here mainly like 60 in the mornings..I plan to cut plants 1 and 3 next week or as soon as we get 2 days of hot sun..

The other day I had a migraine and while getting rest on my outside bed my sour diesel plants nauseated me with its smell...My Og kush does that to me if I grow it well, need to wear a respirator during trim or possibly end up with a headache...Which is a good thing :)

Plant 1 will produce more then I need so I will make a merry early xmas to my friends, sour d for everyone... Plant 3 is very Dense, I regret not veging it out but I wanted to see if it was worth my time...So far all 3 was worth my time..

I am currently waiting on turkish cookies, I mailed out my money on oct 30 and im still waiting, hoping I dont get ripped off...

Pics are sour 1 and the last sour 3, sour 4 is still growing well despite the rain it seems like it might be the smellier of the 3... It will be ready for xmas... Little pm with the weather

I just wanted to add that throughout the last 16 years I have tried numerous mail to order seeds, spent hundreds of dollars and for whatever reason everyone was worth shit, unimpressive grade b weed.... I have the seed bags to prove just how much garbage they sell... I have always had shit luck ordering seeds but im glad I gave greenthumb a try

Acutally I think nirvana orange bud was the only good I ever got, im the type of person that will give my own grow a f rating if it deserves it

Been harvesting plant 1(zero pm), so my first cuttings I was not impressed or excited, I only took couple top/tips maybe 8... and 3 tops from plant 3(dense)..

Fast forward 3 days and plant 1 reacted nicely to the butchering, the color of the plant changed and the resin poured in...Fans were perfectly drained and inner leaves turned purple..

I get a real good feel to the “did I grow crap or did I score?” when I do a trim...My plant changed in that 3 days and im impressed and excited for plant 1. It is a vigorous plant that produces a lot, the clone is already too big for my liking growing crazy fast...

Plant 3 is dense and ripe has very little pm BUT I am not getting strong smells off her. The first clippings I took is still wet but when I squeeze it, I barely get any smell(it used to smell, stii smells like sd but very subtle)....This might be the throw away pheno I been actually hoping to get as I dont want to keep 3 phenos..I will update this

Plant 4 is flowering very nicely with zero pm and is very dense with big colas and stinky, plant 4 might be the fire...

Sorry no real pics but I put this peice to the side as I could feel the resin in it and it will be the first I smoke

Here is plant #4 which is dense and stinky probably the best one....Actually im sure it is

Still drying, and cutting the first plant, its impressive to say the least and to think this other one will be better has me excited..

One thing is you really need to ripen this plant as it produces a abundant amount of resin in the last days....I cant wait to indulge in it...
