Electric bills

Just curious what people pay for electric bills, running a medium scale grow? 10-20 plants. How many watts of what kind of lighting, as well as size of air scrubbers.

What it sounds like, Is you want someone to give you a plan on what/how much light/air movement you need for 10-20 plants. It's all here in the forums, and how much it costs on the bill is easy to figure.

The energy E in kilowatt-hours (kWh) per day is equal to the power P in watts (W) times number of usage hours per day t divided by 1000 watts per kilowatt:
E(kWh/day) = P(W) × t(h/day) / 1000(W/kW)

example:
3000w (random figure pulled out my backside)
.12 cents per kwh
24hrs a day
3000*24/1000
so 72kwh

Then,
72kwh * Cost per kwh = 8.64 a day to run 3000w 24hrs
8.64 * 30 days = 259.20 per month
259.20 * 12 months = 3110.40 per year to run year round.

Edited to fix my stupid math.

I'm running qb led boards in a 4x4 tent 11 weeks 2/3 weeks of that was veg time and electric usage to date is £46.50 lights go out end of week to harvest, I'm well please. So that can give you an idea using same setup or scale it up.
I'm listing GPB as I have no idea where in the solar system you reside.

I run 1200 watts of cree and citizen cobs in my bloom room and about 605 watts of T5 and mars hydro in veg and run a mini split and several oscillating fans. Also RO water system.. my electric and water bills combined have never been more than 60-70$ higher than without growing at all. Granted it's a much higher up front cost but it's very possible to keep energy consumption low while still putting out atleast 6 ounces per week.. usually closer to a half p.
