How many 1000w lights do you think you can get away with before your light bill becomes suspect ? i dont plan on needing to use electicity for any thing else besides twelve 1000w lights . Do you think im pushing it? THANKS FOR ANY INSIGHT

I don't really know... I am running 2x 400W HPS lights right now and all I had to do was change the rest of my light bulbs in the house to 40W equivelent CFLs and my electric bill went down... you say thats all your using the place for? to grow? I heard somewhere a good rule of thumb for a house is about 400W per bedroom is the average consumption. But I have no idea how reliable that is.

hmm 12 yeah prolly pushing it but i think 4-8 would work were doing 2400 right now and it was like $100 dollar increase also depends where you live though

oh man i think you can do that if you dont run ac or hot water heater ive got a big screen tv comnputer xbox ps3 wii and all kinda other electronic goodies running almost allthe time but your ventilkation is gonna have to be pretty hardcore so that might be another 1000w right there

I've read one 1000 watt light per room can be seen as normal electricity use. Hope you have a mansion!

your talking atleast 12 killowatts an hour depending on wich brand of ballast you have. Say you only run them 12 hours a day everyday your still using 4,320 killowatts a month minimum. That's more than twice I have ever used in a month for a 2800 sq ft house with 4 kids and everything running.

depends where you live.. If you live in a 1200sq ft house and have 8x1000 lights thats a bit suspect.. My last house was roughly $175 before growing then with 4x1000 and a/c etc.etc.etc.etc. i was $780-820/month....
