hey there i'm about to start my first grow and after doing some reading im starting to doubt how efficent my set up will be. I got a pretty good deal from a buddy on a 400W Hps/Mh light setup which i was planning on using but i only have limited space to grow in (3.5'w x 2.5'd x 4'h). I realize I'll need space for my light to hang aswell as space from the tops of the plants so my question is do i have enough space to grow with that light? and if so how many plants would fit in there comfortably?

or should i get some CFL's which i can put closer to the lights and wont take up as much space?

thanks for your time, any advice is appreciated

Your fine with that set up bro. I used to have two 400w lights in a 4'X4'X4' Cube that was in my shed. Then I upgraded things a bit. As long as your pots are right on the floor and you keep them 3 ft high you shouldnt havea problem. You can get about 1 ft away with a 400w hps. And If its air cooled even closer yet. Put an oscilatting fan between the light and the plants to help cool it if you do not have an air cooled reflector.

alright sounds good then thx man... i found a 2"x2" computer fan in an old PC i had lying around so i plan to add that as well as the oscilatting fan to go along with the hole i already have cut in the top of the box. Will that be enough ventilation? or will i need to get a bigger comp fan to bring the air in?

aswell how many plants were you growing in that space live2die?

Thanks again
