What do you look at with a microscope? Went over to the hydro store and switched to Neptune fish just before they closed. Gunna start brewing
Microbes son! You can watch your tea come to life before your eyes! Good for checking out when your peak point is for population during aeration and what time they start to die off.

i made up 6 45 gallon pots going by coots soil mix last season.i brewed tea weekly all season long(fed each plant 1 gallon apiece) do you think ill need that tea weekly this season or will my soil be completely available and my "herd" in good shape?@doug mirabelli you should look into "Teaming with Microbes" by Jeff Lowenfels

I've had grows where I didn't do any at all. If you've got good compost, and well built soil they show up with or without the tea. A compost tea or adding molasses will speed and aid the process...but its not something you should need to do frequently.

wow so many people asking about brewing over the top teas, where did all the good soil building go?
i started looking into building my own soil once my state went legal(mmj last season, went rec this year). before when i was growing in the woods i wouldnt have thought about it.Building your own soil is expensive.i cant source rock dusts around me and shipping is crazy.(i have found some deals online, free shipping) hell,i cant even find neem meal around me.so i think it all depends on location and how much sense it makes to invest in building a killer soil if you have to abandon it.im putting in a new garden this year and definitely plan on using teas the first year when all my nutrients are not yet available.
ive got a gameplan now to start composting lobster shells, looking forward to that compost in a couple of years

If you can get some neem seed meal to mix or top dress into your soil you 100% should.
Took your word and picked some DTE neem seed meal. Should I mix it with some soils and put it on the top layer? Just put a layer of it? Thanks for your help man. I'm worried about this tea I'm brewing I hope I didn't put in too much BSM. Think I'll dilute it with rain water anyway

Too much bsm in one application isn't too much to worry over friend! Too frequent of applications can become problematic, but you're not there! You can mix it into the soil or top dress with it. If your goal is to detour fungus gnats then I think top dressing would be best. That top layer is where they like to hang out.
